pansieFL Posted February 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Hi there - lots of active threads on this with tons of opinions, but for us, yes Absolutely worth it - $49.95 for the whole family to get on quicker, to the roman right away and be able to enjoy ourselves without lugging our stuff about - love the priority tendering as well - we never get the ship early so don't take advantage of that feature LOL but I have heard that works really well too. There are a couple of other perks as well, but those listed above are the ones we use constantly when we take FTTF and we love it....

Mysticks1 Posted February 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2014 The majority of opinions in the many threads on here seem to like it although there are some who don't and will probably be on this thread commenting that it is a waste of money and useless. There are some Platinum/Diamond guests that think it is a terrible thing as well even though they got the priority luggage delivery because of FTTF. I bought it to have the cabin ready when we board so I can drop off the carry on luggage and the drinks that I bring onboard. It is worth it to me just for that as I hate trying to get lunch and lugging that stuff around. I am especially looking forward to it on this upcoming cruise as I will be with my DD and her BFF both 20. I know who would get stuck with all that stuff.;) I like the priority luggage delivery that lets me get everything unpacked and put away before muster drill and sail away so just relaxing after dinner. :) If you have a tender port it keeps you from standing in the (sometimes long) lines to exit the ship. No help on getting back.
Jackie722 Posted February 26, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2014 We were on ship and all luggage at our room by 12 last yr it was awesome Sent from my SGH-T999 using Forums mobile app
snc_cam Posted February 26, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Mysticks.... I agree with you.. I love the ability to drop the stuff off in the room before lunch and not having to cart it around. Plus, getting on early means can get lunch without having to stand in the lines :) Jackie, best we've done with FTTF was getting onboard, stuff in room, and back to LIDO getting there before they opened the lunch... :)... murphyarnold Posted February 26, 2014 #11 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I bought this for my cruise in April and I told my children about it ,but not my husband. When I told my children thay said, "Oh... that is so great mom now you won't get frustrated with dad about everything". Poor guy!! For someone reason I get really stressed the day of the trip and the day getting off the ship waiting for our floor to be called. That alone is worth the 49.95 no fighting:D!! He is a great guy to put up with me!
Paumavista Posted February 26, 2014 #12 Share Posted February 26, 2014 We are trying it because we are traveling with elderly parents who have issues standing for long periods of time. I think this is a great reason to book FTTF - you don't have to worry about wheelchairs or standing a long time or whether there will be assistance available. Also, by getting to the lunch earlier you can easily get a table and serve yourself or those with mobility issues without crowds. We purchased because we will have little ones......5 of the children in our group will be under 4 (2 babies). Anything to make the boarding and disembarking easier will be appreciated. (I purchased 4 FTTF's for our group of 4 cabins) - the kids will be VERY excited.....but excitement isn't always a fun thing.......
sacnaillady Posted February 26, 2014 #13 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Do you think it is worth it for Alaska? There are no tenders (I've been told), we're flying in the day of as we are going from No. California to Seattle and there is no hurry to get off the ship as we're staying in Seattle after. Can anyone think of a good reason I would need it? I had it in the Caribbean in Jan. And it was so worth it. Alaska seems like a different animal. MoreMouse Posted February 26, 2014 #14 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I know people on CC think it's a waste of money, BUT I can get very "testy", lets call it, when I'm standing around holding a bunch of drinks, carry-on's, my purse, etc. I completely stress my husband out. I can't carry all that crap around. We end up sitting in the atrium not doing anything until we can get to the cabin. My fault, but that's the way it is. I blame the OCD. ;) It is WELL worth the money for us to be able to walk straight on the ship and go to our cabin. If the luggage turns up before Muster, so be it. We'll put everything up whenever it finally comes. All I'm paying for is the ability to go to our cabin to drop stuff off. I couldn't care less about the other things. CheckersMidwest Posted February 26, 2014 #17 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Faster to the Fun covers everyone in THE CABIN. Not necessarily the entire family. We have 2 cabins so need to purchase it for BOTH cabins. We used it last year. We arrive at the port by 10:30. Checked in with no standing in line, sat for half an hour maybe in a special priority boarding area and on the ship by 11:15 or so. Took our carry on straight to the room and some of the luggage was already there. We take the extra time in the morning looking around, grab lunch and find a deck chair for sail away. When we tendered in Grand Cayman, we went to the Guest services desk & told them we had FTTF and were ready to go ashore. The lady escorted us downstairs, passed the people in line & told the guy in charge we had FTTF. We immediately boarded the tender. We really weren't in a hurry, but I can see where this would be nice if you booked private excursions since the Carnival excursions get priority tendering. rosecruise Posted February 26, 2014 #23 Share Posted February 26, 2014 To me the only thing that was worth it was the priority tendering. We never carry on much stuff so lugging around a camera case is no biggie. Think about the perks and what it means to you. If I was tendering anywhere without a tour out later in the day tour I'd buy it in a heartbeat. This next cruise out of San Juan and we won't need it. jcearth Posted February 26, 2014 #24 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I've used it twice now, and I like all the things mentioned above, but one thing I did not anticipate liking so much about FTTF was no waiting at guest services. Towards the end of the cruise, that line can be a monster, so it was really nice to just go up and bypass the line.
Waterloomarc Posted February 26, 2014 #25 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Absolutely worth it to me. All I care about is the early boarding and being able to go to cabin sooner. The rest doesn't matter at all to me. We had it last month on Fascination and our DD was 7mo at the time so it was great not being in line for so long and being and being able to drop the stroller and diaper bag etc. Bought it again for our September cruise.
