frostywolf Posted February 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Anyone that is going on the Pearl today should take their time getting to the port. Customs has halted debarkation of our ship, evacuated the terminal and called in fire, police and it looks like hazmat teams. They shuffled all the porters across to the next terminal. This was done during early walk-off so lots of people still on board. They told us we could go back to our cabins if we wanted. roger001 Posted February 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Any idea the reason?
frostywolf Posted February 26, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted February 26, 2014 No idea. They've cleared a few of the parking lots now and a helicopter is hovering. We didn't even have a port stop other than GSC so it isnt like anyone could have picked up something elsewhere. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Forums mobile app The 2 things may not be linked at all. We had someone escorted off of our ship by police in Boston. That may be just coincidental. I'm just enjoying more coffee. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Forums mobile app

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Forums mobile app If I had to be held up somewhere, I could really think of a lot worse places to be than a cruise ship and especially a music charter. Enjoy your coffee and the entertainment including the drama unfolding just off the ship.
nadeki Posted February 26, 2014 #14 Share Posted February 26, 2014 If I was on a ship in a bad situation and the band started playing... I would feel like the Titanic in the sinking scene and the band played on. Hope you get off soon.

che5904 Posted February 26, 2014 #16 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Update: "Old Compass Emitting Radiation Causes Evacuation at Port Miami". Odd was someone afraid of the captain getting lost and decided they needed to bring their own compass?

che5904 Posted February 26, 2014 #20 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Are you sure it was " Compass " and not "Biscuit " ? Well I'm now a little ticked with all my online CC friends. I've read the numerous packing lists that people have submitted. You know the ones that have the over the door shoe holder, the duct tape, ziplock bags. Now, I'm an overpacker by nature so I've tried to bring as many of those things as possible. And not one list that I recall told me to bring a compass. Now I feel very let down that there was something I've missed that I may have needed. :( DH is going to be so relieved  when I inform him that there is something else that I must put in my luggage (just in case...). :D

It can't be a simple, common boy scout-class compass. :)
LrgPizza Posted February 26, 2014 #23 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Update: "Old Compass Emitting Radiation Causes Evacuation at Port Miami".
