could someone who has played poker on the celebrity sillouette tell me what they actually have for poker. ive read where they have 2 electronic tables with one table 1/2 no limit and another with a 2/5 no limit. then I have read where there is one game 2/5 no limit with a live dealer with no electronic tables. I also understand from what I read they take 10% rake up to 15.00. is that also true? thank you id like to get the real answer.

Silhouette has two electronic poker tables; never saw any with live dealer where guests play versus one another. Forget the exact amount of rake, but was surprisingly high versus from what I have seen at land based casinos. As such I did not play much.

Interesting, that's how it was on Equinox in the summer of 2010 but last summer (2013) on Silhouette is was one hold'em table with a live dealer. I don't remember the rakes etc, though, was just watching my husbnd.

if that's the case then they must be dealing 2/5 no limit holdem which probably has like a 200 minimum buy in. I prefer 1/2 no limit with a smaller buy in. im sure because they are raking a lot more that's why. im wondering if a lot of people prefer to play 1/2 no limit if they will deal that instead. does anyone know about this?

tommy...when are you sailing? I'm on the April 6th Western Caribbean, I would rather 1/2.

Good to know; your cruise was more recent - I was on Silhouette in Fall of 2011 and at that time it was two electronic PokerPro tables but no live dealer led games.

They had a Texas Hold 'Em table with a $5 ante plus $5 initial bet ($10 total to start) then the betting is either 3 times your initial bet after the flop, 2 times your initial bet on the turn, or matching your bet on the river. All you need to do is beat the dealer and no one else. No bluffing at all in this game.

I do not really consider that Texas Hold 'Em - to me it is more a gimmick game with minimal strategy and odds heavily in favor of the house.

As of January 2014, Silhouette had one live poker table spreading $2-$5 NL with a 10% rake capped at $15. Buyin was $200-$500.

We live at the poker tables in the evenings lol.

Only Silhouette and Reflection in the fleet have live tables.

Susie v- thank you for giving me the latest updated poker situation. I will play in the 2/5 game no limit if that's all that's offered. would they consider making it a 1/2 no limit game if that's what the people wanted. I wouldn't play with a 15%rake up to 15.00 anywhere else. that's tough to beat on a consistant basis. when your on a cruise and only one game you don't have much of a choice.

Honestly, if you're a poker player, and I assume you are since you're asking the question, I suspect you'll enjoy the game.

As a general rule, we find it's full of weekenders and people just playing for fun. The poker tables have been good to us onboard, notwithstanding the rake.

I believe they won't drop the limit unless they can't fill the table at $2-$5.
