CAS Winnings...

OK so what's the biggest win you have ever had at the casino at sea? For me it was when I hit the number 14 on the roulette wheel when I had $20 bet. At 35 to 1 it paid me $700. Not great big but yeah I was happy with it... :)

Also, has anyone ever seen that lotto drawing thing hti while on a cruise? I have not but I have only been on two crusies so far.

I won one jackpot of around $3500 on the Jewel, and one of exactly $1200 (just enough for a W-2g lol) on the Pearl. Lots and lots of under $1000 jackpots. All of these on bets of roughly $3 per spin.

The form is actually a 1099-G. However by law (taken with as many grains of salt deemed appropriate) you are supposed to claim ALL gambling winnings as earned income whether it reaches the 1099 limit or not.

There was a thread on this topic about a year or so ago, but since we can't search . . .

I have had several wins, including $1,750 last year on the Dawn and $1,750 on the Pearl (7 out 7 on Video Keno). One poster reported winning $15,000 on Quick Hit.

All of my forms show W-2G.

It used to be 1099-G but it's now W-2G. I have a few every year and the 1099's stopped coming a few years ago, only W2-G's last few years.

On a 2 night cruise to nowhere on the Star, I hit $15,000 on the Quick Hits!:D

Nice!!! :D. I've been after that elusive jackpot for years on both land and sea and tens of thousands of $$ lol. Closest I ever came was on the Epic, where on night 1, I told my hubby that a certain machine would hit (long story). I played it at least 4 hours every day, but one afternoon I walked in and someone else was on it. I waited very impatiently (lol) but he wouldn't get off it! Yup, you guessed it, it HIT while I waited... Grrrr. Normally I would have been happy for him, but the guy was a real umm not-so-nice-person (feel free to replace with your own noun - one of those "ME, ME, ME, NOW, NOW, NOW" kind of people). And he continued to be this way the entire rest of the sailing. His wife, however, was nice, gave extra tips to the servers since he never tipped,, and seemed embarrassed by his boorish behavior, so I'm hoping he bought her something lovely with his winnings.. :o

Anyway, congrats! Nice win! :D

I am looking at my W-2G I earned on the Sun last year. Just finished having notarized as required by NCL my request for a Win - Loss statement to offset the reported winnings for my tax return.
