We are going on the Quantum of the Seas (12 day sailing) March 1 - 13, 2015.

We will be driving in from Ottawa, Canada on Feb 28th. We will be driving thru Syracuse (I81,I80 and then either I280 or I287 to I78) We would like to be close enough to have a short drive (20 to 40 minutes max) on Saturday morning and leave our vehicle at the the port for the duration of the cruise.

We are 5 (2 adults and 3 kids (7, 10, 13). It would be nice to have a pool to relax in and parking included at the hotel. We are not really planning to leave the hotel once we arrive on Friday night and will likely eat supper before checking into the hotel.

I have a looked at a number of hotels and I am considering the following 2 options.

- SpringHill Suites by Marriott near Newark Airport - CAD $192.05 (Free Cancellation, includes breakfast, WIFI and parking)

- I know there are other properties near the Jersey Gardens Mall which seem to be popular on the boards.

- Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Newark Airport

- Residence Inn Newark Elizabeth/Liberty International Airport.

- Embassy Suites Elizabeth-Newark Airport - CAD $252.48 taxes in (Free Cancellation, includes breakfast). I know the Embassy Suites has additional charges for Wifi and parking. Making it more in $280 range. We have stayed at the Embassy Suites in Montreal and the full breakfast is worth the money and the quality of the hotel is great.

We are looking for anything between 140 - 250 CAD would be the max.

Any advice would be helpful.

You will get a lot more for your money if you look at hotels in the Parsipanny, NJ area. You have five people, so the number of properties that will accommodate you is less. You want a pool. which is not an amenity in many Newark Airport hotels. It's also a long drive from Canada. Why not get off the road a little sooner and stay in a nicer more comfortable area?

Look at Embassy Suites in Parsippany which is showing rates under $150, indoor pool, and free breakfast. You would be within an hour of Cape Liberty which would be an easy drive on a Sat morning.
