CAS Early Boarding?

My first CAS cruise will be on the Getaway in April.

We want to purchase Vibe passess.

I understand CAS cruisers have priority boarding.

Can anyone tell me just how much of a priority CAS offers?

Thanks in advance for your help.

NO CAS does not have priority boarding, they have priority check-in, which are two different things.

In the terminal (most anyway) will have a CAS designated line for check-in, they will also have other lines like balcony/minisuites, levels for different latitude status. My last cruise, I was eligible for 3 different lines, they sent me to the shortest which was the general check in LOL

You still will receive the same boarding as everyone else that are not suites, sorry.

Leaving out of NY CAS has priority check in AND boarding with a special pre boarding area. We are on board right after handicapped travelers. Once we were the fifth and sixth people to board. Never waited more than 5 minutes after handicapped group called. Haven guests are boarded at a different section.

Can't answer for other ports

Safe sailing

Agree re NY port. I've sailed out of NY 3 times in last 12 months; on all three occasions, CAS had priority check-in, priority boarding and a special waiting area. No idea about Miami. Anyone know?

On our CAS cruises out of Miami, there was a priority line for CAS customers, but no priority boarding. If you're in a suite, you do get priority boarding.

However, it has been a while since we cruised out of Miami and they could have changed things up there.

Had priority boarding in Miami on my first CAS cruise about four or five years ago. Since then, no CAS priority boarding in Miami or in Tampa.

No priority boarding out of Tampa a month ago.

Didn't have priority boarding in Miami in 2009

Didn't have priority boarding in LA in 2011

Sounds like it's not very consistent with what CAS guests get.

At NOLA you have to self identify yourself as a CAS guest, they give you a card with the word casino on it and send you to a special line. If boarding hasn't already started, you sit down with the "masses" until they call the "casino group" which is right after the handicapped group.

I'm beginning to think I'm the only CAS guest that does not get priority boarding. All three cruises I've had with NCL have been CAS cruises and none have I gotten priority boarding. That just sucks.

  • 2 months later...

We've been on the BA (12/13) & Dawn x2 (12/12 & 9/13) with CAS and we had priority check-in and boarding (NY, Tampa & Boston). We'll be on the Gem in Oct. so we'll see if our good luck will continue.

It was a surprising and nice perk which was appreciated. :D
