  1. This is our favorite excursion especially on Rebel Yell - you won't be disappointed. Unfortunately last time we were there was before the hurricane that devastated the islands. Of course our trip in March 2020 was cancelled. All set to go back this coming week on the Escape - had to cancel due to medical event. (sad face - lots of tears - sniff sniff) Go, enjoy, walk the beach. Chairs and palm tree shade was free - don't remember being charged for anything other than the painkillers. Food was delicious too! Watch out! Those PKs creep up on ya! lol
  2. I'd love to see NCL in Jax but at least offering 7 day cruises (along with the 4/5 days) - the shorter ones tend to be too much of a party cruise. The Dames Point Bridge is a concern, as stated above, it would have to be a smaller ship to get under the bridge to JaxPort. Bermuda or the Caribbean would be wonderful - we can hope! 🀞
  3. Totally agree with @cellfree We've been "grounded" since Thanksgiving - had to cancel our 2/3 Escape (NCL) cruise - we're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel 🀞 Thank you @ninjacat123 and all the others I'm following on X, NCL, Princess. Carnival was new for me but our kids were on your sailing and they had a great time! ❀️
  4. Congratulations and good luck! We were on the Regal repo 2019 and our friend won the competition - such fun to root for him.
  5. How cute is that!!?? - I have never seen that done!!! πŸ’• Enjoy GT & Jack's. GT was a brand new port when we were there in 2007 - we tried in 2021 but they weren't open yet to cruise ships.
  6. My SIL moved there about 2 years now (from NY). She loves it, so much to do and has made many friends. So close to Savannah and Charleston.
  7. @ninjacat123 Thanks for your "play by play" adventures. Our kids are sailing with you (DD,SIL & 2 Grands 7 & 11) I'm looking forward to traveling vicariously! 😎
  8. We just had the basic balcony - not the mini suite. From my memory it was 1/2 covered We were on the aft bump out for the Panama Canal and those balconies were smaller. Stick with mid-ship, you should be fine.
  9. Definitely the Coral (we chose that ship in 2018 - had already been on her for the Panama Canal) Great viewing areas - easy to navigate - IC We chose to do the Sanctuary for Glacier National Park Day - hands down was the best decision for us. Caribe deck has the larger 1/2 covered balconies. Enjoy!
  10. @mitsugirly Thanks for your great review - we were going to be on the Escape with the same itinerary, but had to cancel due to health issues. Definitely do Alaska - another NCL reviewer to follow is @YVRteacher she usually cruises a B2B each season with her Dad. I have followed a few of your land vacations on your blog but had difficulty with the black background (I guess it's time to get the eyes fixed). Always appreciate your insightfulness.
  11. Loved following your review - got lots of great ideas! So glad you recovered well from the pneumonia - thank goodness you are not smoking! πŸ₯° I too was a bit confused - then realized the same!
  12. Hi John, I am so sorry - yes, I was hacked - far and wide! Have taken the appropriate measures - Thank you so much for letting me know. πŸ₯°
  13. Ooops sorry about the mistake in my post πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Yes! Enjoying β€œStem to Stern” comparison
  14. @Ellesor826 I Rosie - I've been following @Side-By-Side Low and behold, who do I see on the Summit 🦩 Hope you all have a fabulous time! Enjoying all the differences - we were thinking of trying MSC (we're still grounded) . Merry Christmas πŸ¦©πŸŽ„
  15. I've been hearing about the production shows being replace by game shows. IMO, very disappointing. NCL has always been known for their great Broadway type shows.
  16. Following along - our niece and husband are on this cruise. Six was wonderful as was Jersey Boys. Love the Vibe Never been on the Bliss but have the Escape booked for February.
  17. @trinitygirl Thank You for sharing the Vegan Menus - although I'm not Vegan, there are many items that would be preferable than on the regular menu. Glad you are enjoying. The weather on the NE Coast to the Tropicals have been unsettled - lots of rain, wind & waves.
  18. @happychippy Just looking back - I need to thank you too! You gave us valuable information! I printed it out and gave to the "kids" (the big ones, lol) It's just been a bit crazy here and my response didn't have my complete attention. πŸ₯°
  19. @Sthrngary I must say, there were times in the evenings you couldn't get a seat at the Martini Bar - it was our favorite place too. Glad you are enjoying the "O" martini. Would you check to see if they will share the recipe? We watched but haven't been able to duplicate. The Spa Deck was lovely, quiet, comfortable. I wish there was some kind of drink/snack service (ie Sanctuary on Princess). Our itinerary was very port intensive - we found the entertainment more reserve. Loved the piano player in Martini Bar, loved the music in Horizons (not that we often made it up that late). Trivia was huge on our cruise, as I'm sure it is on yours. All in all, our trip was great but have no further bookings at this time. Enjoying your posts each day, thank you!
  20. @gometros Thanks for your help & checking back in! I heard it was a rocky ride but DS & DIL said the kids did great. They were able to get tickets for the Princess Tea Party (just DIL & granddaughter). Wow! Pricey! πŸ˜‚ This was their first foray into cruising with the kids - to be truthful, we have only gotten "bits & pieces" of their trip. We were away when they got back home. GD (she's 3.5yo) had several meltdowns πŸ₯° (that happens at home too!). What I noted (and was confirmed) when we dropped them off at Pier 88, there was a huge outside line - it was moving but not well. It took them quite a while to get inside, then check-in, then wait. We dropped them off at 11-11:30am and I don't think they got on until close to 2pm. By that time the kids were "hangry". To me, that was surprising for Disney. All in all, they said it was a positive experience. They plan on going to Disney World next year in the fall. 😊
  21. @coolcagolfer FYI, many cardiology offices use the "finger stick" INR testing. I would consult with your physician - the best way to handle testing while away. Being in the medical laboratory field for many years (retired) when I needed to go on a blood thinner - I chose Xarelto. Yes, very expensive but not as many side-effects that warfarin can cause and so much easier for traveling.
  22. We were on Riviera in September - we loved the Martini Bar, bartenders (Viktor and Tony) and servers, all fantastic. It was fun to grab a cocktail during Trivia, before dinner and our "nightcap". πŸ˜‰ If you would like to try something slightly different - order the Cosmo with the orange peel instead of lime. Loved it - wish we brought home the exact ingredients!! I believe it did have orange vodka instead πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ We too are Princess, NCL converts! Continue to enjoy!
  23. @happychippy Thank you so much for the info - I'm sure they will have a great time. This is their first cruise with the kids (3.5 & 7) and Disney for everyone.
