When is 'Enough is Enough'?

Yeah but lets be reasonable here...I just got back off liberty yesterday this is 3rd CCL and 1 NCL for us... to be honest the staff was great the ship was nice..service was good but that's it for me..besides guys burgers and blue iguanas cantina the food was not that good.the entertainment , parties, activities on board were so lame and unorganized it was almost funny..you go to port when you get back theres no food but guys burgers..and pizza..buffett closed ..food in main dining room not worth sitting there going through the motions..I'm not a NCL loyal or nothing but the way their shows where put on and parties were like a Hollywood red carpet event . Food everywhere all times of the day.my point is you can cut back on things but I thought carnival was this lively fun party ship and everything just seemed to be done half way ..did my family have fun yes but more in ports than on ship ..I just think it could have been better without a lot of expense to the ship..JMO

Thats kind of the way we are feeling. And a new NCL ship is what we are considering. Since we cruised 2 times last year on the Breeze we are kind of hooked on new ships. I tend to think everything is just a step better on the new ships rather than on the older ships. I can still have a good time on a Carnival cruise but I am not wowed anymore. I think a new experience may give us a new wow feeling. I have also heard that NCL values their casino players more. Compared to the perks I get from land based casinos Carnival doesn't offer me squat. Granted I don't go on cruises for the casino but its what we do at night. Maybe because the entertainment on Carnival isn't enough to attract us anymore. I may just have talked myself into booking a cruise......on a different line. YIKES

And I agree that the 'games' onboard are lame. They haven't changed much since we started with Carnival on the Fascination in 1999. Come on....hairy legs....really? Gross

Delicate balance; consider the expenses like fuel oil, labor, insurance and a shareholder that's expecting dividends and the options are down to two.

One is raise the price and keep amenities and the other is eliminate some things.

Las Vegas has offered cheap rooms forever, now they add a resort fee and buffet costs are double what they were just a few years ago.

Profit and expense ratios...

My point is when will you say "enough is enough" and stop cruising with Carnival---or any other cruise line for that matter? They are all reducing onboard features. For me I'm not sure, but I have thought about other lines just to compare them by todays standards. I've cruised others but its been a while so it would be unfair to compare standards from 10 or more years ago. So whats your limit?

I guess they're now living up to their name, all these deep fried foods and overworked "carnies". Pretty soon they'll have all the game booths to try and win stuffed animals!
