I'd like to see this question posted as a poll instead, that way we could see a graph of the results. Thought I'd suggest that to you, OP, since this was a good question, but I'm not interested in reading 4 pages of answers. I'd like to see something in numbers & graph form.

p.s. Destiny

I was just thinking the same thing!

Although I am enjoying reading everyone's posts. :)

I wish I could make it a poll. However, you can only have 14 poll options and there is more then 14 Carnival ships. I will post updated results from time to time.

My first cruise was 1968 on the Mardi Gras . Yard of ale drinking contest, shooting trap off the aft, no shows had to go to the casino in Nassau for their floor show. Two single beds not able to push together. Shower and marine toilet real close together. Shower curtain covered both.

Mine was the Carnival Carnival back in 1983 (I was 21, had my first job out of college, and mom and dad who lived four hours away asked if I'd like to come with them for a spring break cruise (they would pay).

Things were a lot fancier and a lot more formal back in 83. There was an over the top midnight buffet and a mini buffet at 2:00 a.m.

Some guys at the casino at the craps table asked if I'd roll the dice for them, as I told them I didn't know how to play craps and they said they have the best luck when they get someone who doesn't know how to play rolling the dice. It was wild. They say roll a xxx, and what do you know that's what I'd roll. By the time the run ended they were about $3000 ahead. lol // I wasn't betting any money and didn't get any of the money which was fine. But they were pretty nice and sent wine over to our table (their complements) for several meals. And they were some nice buddies I hung out with a little on the cruise. I hung with mom and dad a ton too, as I always love spending time with them. // Still do and my husband, son who is 18 now, and I will be cruising with my parents and my brother and his girlfriend on the Carnival Valor out of San Juan this coming Sunday.

I didn't cruise again until 1998. I was really into skiing back in those days and most of my limited vacation time was spent out west skiing.
