itsjill05 Posted March 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2014 My husband and I are going on our first cruise April 9th out of Charleston, SC, we will be driving the morning of down there and we're wondering what time to get there? What time can we park the car and line up to get on the ship? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
paul929207 Posted March 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2014 We sailed from Charleston about 2 1/2 years ago. I think it was about 10:30am that we were allowed into the parking facility. As I reecall, we checked in about 12:15 or so, but we had a suite which got us on the priority line. Our cabin was ready about 1:30. Carnival now has something where for an extra fee (of course), you get to board first and your cabin is ready when you board.

I would imagine if you plan to arrive in Charleston by 11:30 you should have plenty of time. I would plan on arriving not less than 3 hours before sailing. rookiecruiser2014 Posted March 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2014 We purchased the faster to the fun pass and will report back if it was worth it. A friend shared he and his family enjoyed getting settled in a few hours before all the crowds, giving them time to eat, get lost, and enjoy some of the busy spots before everyone else. Krazy Kruizers Posted March 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2014 We had friends who bought the "Faster to the Fun" pass and thoroughly enjoyed being able to get on the ship early and having their cabin ready for them.
sharse Posted March 21, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 21, 2014 My cruise (RCCL) departs at 4:00pm. Should I expect to be able to board around noon? Thank you!
