My first cruise ever! Simply amazing!!!!!

I have that same map and had it framed! The passenger list was printed with everyone's name and home city/country. I sure stayed SHIPSHAPE!

Our 1st cruise also! White glove service,. Escorted to our cabins by a cabin stewards upon boarding, golfing off the stern, attentive waiters, bus boys, wine stewards, and lastly entertainment by the wait staff at every dinner. Of yea, flaming desserts!

Oh - ShipShape tshirts and caps only if you showed up for some 'exercise'.

Yes yes yes - not to mention the elaborate midnight buffets with the over the top presentation and dramatic ice sculptures - which you could watch them carve earlier in the day by the pool.

Second cruise for me, first was Nordic Prince.

Last time I sailed on her was December 15, 1979. Stateroom 518 Main Deck. I was 18. Still have that map(framed) in the video!

Remember the RCCL signature Chameleon Cocktail? The bartender would change the color of the drink to match a ladies dress. I thought that was so cool.

That was our first cruise as well, back in 1984. I still have our shipshape tshirts in a drawer somewhere. And a couple of the old souvenir glasses from the Viking Crown Lounge.

I bet I could scrounge up some photos somewhere.

Oh our first cruise! We were having the time of our lives in our little cabin with the round porthole window, the tiny bathroom and the closet with only a curtain we would watch our clothes sway back and forth.

We got so much exercise with the complicated ways to get from one end to the other. Such special service.

After that cruise we could not wait to return for another, sadly not on the Song of Norway..

Remember that little souvenir tasting cup you got from the wine tastings on board? I had to go do a search to remember what its called - a "tastevin." I had mine for many years, but eventually it fell victim to too many moves!

This isn't a RCI souvenir one, but kind of what it looked like, with a ribbon to wear it around your neck.

Our third cruise and our first on Royal Caribbean. It made us confirmed loyalists to RCI. Even though we have sailed on several other lines, we inevitably return to Royal, especially when we want to be sure of an excellent cruise experience.:)

Our favorite ship of all time. We first sailed on her in 1976 - our first cruise ever. Our waiter's name was Jacob and he was fabulous. The last time we sailed on her was to celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary in 1991. Just like our first cruise on her, that was magical also.
