Leftover OBC??

As of last Fall, all OBC is refundable. You can get it in cash at the PSD the morning of disembarkation or they'll send you a check. No need to go to the Casino.

Princess allows OBC to be combined, unlike other cruise lines, so it can be relatively easy to rack up a substantial OBC. In September, between my TA's OBC, FCC OBC, stockholder OBC and loyalty OBC, I'll have close to $600 in OBC.

We had a large amount of OBC on our last cruise. A Princess tour was canceled and we ended up with an excess of about $250. We stopped at the Passenger Services desk on the last full day and was offered cash or a credit card refund. I took the cash :) Until this cruise I always thought that leftover OBC was an oxymoron ;)

I have a funny story about this. My wife and I recently did a one day/overnight Seattle to Vancouver cruise with the kids just for a little family get-a-way (and to get another credit). Our boys were 13 and 4 at the time and we all had a good time. The morning of disembark it was a little crazy at the gangway trying to keep everyone together in the crowds as we were getting off. My wife was in the front and I was in the back of our little group and when they got to me and scanned my card, you would have thought I was a criminal. They stopped me (wife and kids still going with the crowd having a grand ol' time) and told me I had to go to the PS desk. I asked what was wrong and the crewmember told me they will tell you at the desk (wife and kids still unaware I was stopped and still going with the crowd). I yelled to my older boy to tell "mom" that I would be out in a minute and to wait in the building. I quickly proceeded to the PS desk sure I was going to be placed in handcuffs in the "foreign" land for some unknown crime. Next thing I know...they handed me $43.00 in cash (OBC) that I did not know I had (military benefit). I had to fight with myself a little bit when I caught up with the family not to make up some great story about why I was stopped. -Glenn
