RCCL called re Royal Replenishment Package

About a week ago, I had sent an e-mail to RCI regarding the definition of premium coffee in the RRP, stating that some people who came off recent cruises said mochas were not included and others said they were. I received a response via e-mail that they would do some research and get back to me.

Yesterday, we received a phone call from RCI stating that Mochas are also included. These specialty coffees are purchased at the Café Promenade and can also be purchased in the MDR, but not at Starbucks. The person who called was very pleasant and very helpful.

I know that another poster received this info via e-mail; so if that person could possibly do a copy and paste to this forum, it would be most helpful.

Thanks for sharing your information for those cruisers who are planning on buying the Royal Replenish Package and didn't know what to expect.

This is one reason I love Cruise Critic because the majority of the fellow cruisers here love sharing their knowledge.

I actually sent RCCL an email asking the exact question last week and I received a response earlier this week. Here is the email:

We are proud to offer four all-inclusive beverage package options on select cruises that are four nights or longer, giving guests a convenient way to enjoy an all-inclusive beverage experience during their cruise vacation. Thank you, Mulan, for the detailed info. I had suggested in my e-mail that RCI's website list a definition of "premium" coffee and specify that the beverages include mochas, etc. People hesitate to purchase packages that aren't specific.

Again, thanks for the detailed info.

From my personal experience aboard Allure premium coffee means...

Espresso, Cappuccino, latte, mocha, and chai latte. They are available at the Cafe Promenade and some are also available in the Vitality Spa. And as most seem to already know, you cannot use the package at the Starbuck's kiosk.

We were on the IOS the first week of March and my friend had the $20 package and was also able to order his coffee in the MDR. He had a cappuccino every night after dinner. They checked his card every night when he ordered it. He really enjoyed this package. Even when we were at labadee he was able to get his non alcoholic pina colada.

Anyone have an idea of what non alcoholic drinks are included in the royal replenish package?

I believe as long as it's "virgin" it's included...I had so many yummy lava flows and mango lava flows, etc :D

  • 4 weeks later...

Sometimes clarification from royal just gives rise to more questions now I'm confused about Indy cafe prom, so i get what and which ships have the Starbucks® locations are but what about a Seattle’s Best Coffee® location which ship has these? Is the counter in cafe prom on Indy classed as a Seattle Best location or is this an included location in terms of the package?

To my knowledge, all the ships with a Cafe Promenade include specialty coffee from the Cafe Promenade bar with the Replenish and Ultimate packages.

I am not sure if they had frozen mochas but they did have iced versions of the mocha coffee on Allure at the Cafe Promenade and it is included in the package.

The following beverages are not included in the package: stateroom soda and water set ups, room service items, bottled water, sodas sold in bottles or cans and juicesquote]

Stupid question, where do you get the bottled water from that IS included with the package? Can you request extra bottled water from your room attendent? And I'm assuming no issues taking it off the ship at port?

Any bar will give you a bottle of water. No problem taking it off the ship.

My uncle and I were on the Granduer in feb 10 night western. We both had the replenish package. For the first 7 days we had Starbucks 3-4 times a day which was included. After day 7 the same drinks that we had with the replenish package we had to pay for. When we asked why we were informed that the ship had just received news that it was new policy. Some people were upset that they changed the policy mid-cruise. So they are still working out bugs in the system.

So what did they say was "premium coffee", since the drinks you had been getting had now been changed?

And FWIW, you didn't get "Starbucks", you got espresso drinks made by baristas at, I assume, Cafe Promenade, which may or may not have been made with Starbucks espresso beans.

"Starbucks", as defined by the Replenish package, means "espresso drinks made at a proper, branded Starbucks location, which is only on Allure and Oasis, and isn't included in Replenish". Whew. Lotta words. But using the wrong phrases is what is confusing this whole thing.

But really, what did they say was included in "premium coffee"? What had you been getting?
