Chops vs Solarium on Oasis?

Recommended Posts

I know they are at far extremes and DD16 and Although DD16 are more fish eaters than meat both but based on reviews both have highs and lows. We have reservations at Giovanni's and 150 and are looking for one more specialty

On a 7 night cruise, we eat in 150 Central Park 2 times, Giovanni's 1 time, Izumi's 1 time and Solarium Bistro 3 times. We avoid Chop unless some travelling buddies just have to eat there. Solarium is so peaceful and the food amazing, best ahi tuna stead and Bison anywhere, imho. Well worth the extra cost.

Hey there, Seatravelers, quick question, please. Any aroma of pool chlorine when dining at the Solarium? And the food is well worth the extra $20? Thank you.

I totaly agree. I love eating in Solarium. The bison and ahi tuna are also my favorites dishes and the tranquil atmosphere is very relaxing.

No odor at all. There is a glass wall separating the dining room from the pool. Yes, I think it is well worth it.

Hello All,

On the Oasis we ate at Solarium bistro and really really enjoyed it. It has a great South Beach type feel to it, and a very clean healthy menu. Now we also ate at CHOPS and absolutely loved it. But I wanted to share a few pics from the Solarium Bistro....ENJOY!

This is that nice white look!

Again we really did enjoy eating at the Solarium Bistro, and we did intend to go again, but the cruise went wayyyyy to fast. Enjoy!

Solarium...you can eat at a steakhouse at home. It is quiet, wonderful food and won't weigh you down like a steak. Now that Chops has an up charge for most steaks after the charge just to get in we won't be returning. We have plenty of expensive places to eat in town that serve great steak. We can eat in the MDR for no extra charge or try one of the places on board.

We had dinner in both places last on our cruise 3/22/14. I think for $20 Solarium is a steal!. We did eat in Chops twice. My wife loves the Halibut at Chops and the 10oz filet is wonderful. I have food porn of all the dishes we had at Chops, 150 Central, Giovanni's and Solarium in my review, plus many more pics and text, including the All Access Tour. And Cruise Compass for eastern Oasis. Click on link below to see the review.

I would dine at both Solarium and Chops. The price is well worth both (just make sure that Chops has old menu) and both are so much better than MDR.

I did actually read your thread - you did an excellent job, thanks so much. Fresh halibut is one of my favorite things in the world and that is why I was challenged over chops vs solarium but knowing the fish is frozen I wasn't sure. You said your wife loved it but is she as picky as me regards fresh vs frozen?
