readboat Posted March 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2014 We will be sailing the Med in a couple of weeks on the Noordam. I never thought of theme nights until I saw the question today. Should I expect a theme night on our sailing. I like to be prepared.
CruiserBruce Posted March 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) I wouldn't expect much in the way of theme nights. Certainly not anything requiring preparation, or that will generate widespread response by the pax in terms of attire. jakkojakko Posted March 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 28, 2014 Only on grand voyages. I don't think the Noordam does any.
Mary Ellen Posted March 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 29, 2014 The only type of theme night you might have on your Noordam cruise is a 'Black & White Ball'. We've seen a few of those on our (not Grand Voyage) cruises.
jeffandsteve Posted March 29, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 29, 2014 All Cruise lines have theme nights we are on your cruise from 14th April - 7th May depends how long the cruise as to how many normal is 2 - 3, last cruise Nov with F Olsen to Africa had British night ( staff were singing then sang an American song !!!!! ) not much research their. Then another was Hawaiian that was a 3 week cruise, some do join in some don't, staff even waiters do, there's no set menu for anyone. Most of the time staff will have little bits for you to have, One cruise western night gave us hats and cravets, but the best was the last with paper garlands, look good hung in hall Most Cruise lines send this with paper work near the end, but you could phone Customer Services for Holland America or go on there Facebook page hope we have good weather Jeff

The only themed events were the "Late Night Snack" (old Midnight Buffet) so no special clothes, and a "Tropical Night' with Lido Deck BBQ. No special clothes required, but as this was a Caribbean cruise, many people had Hawaii style shirts. Not all ships of true themed nights.
