I haven't seen anyone say they will be, but NCL appears to be based on the video I found. They actually posted the link on Twitter.

I think everyone has been saying they are doing live reviews on CC and Instagram. I'm sure someone will be posting stuff here as they run across items on the different social media platforms.

I had a Vibe pass on the GETAWAY and it was a life saver for me. It truly enhanced the enjoyment of the cruise. I do enjoy laying out on deck but they were just too crowded and noisy on GETAWAY. The private Vibe deck was truly my outdoor oasis amid all the chaos.

I'm not planning on a Vibe pass on ESCAPE as my cruise is a crossing and I don't anticipate much laying out on deck. On a Caribbean cruise I would ensure an early embarkation to score one of those passes. It was worth every penny.

Does anyone know how much the Vibe pass costs or when I can purchase one? My husband and I will be on the Nov. 21st sailing for the Escape.

Just logged on to NCL to add in the Ultimate Beverage Package and discovered it had been increased 18% from $54/day to $64/day.

Rather ticked me off since I asked them a couple months ago if there was any problem leaving the package ordering to the last minute. No problem I was told, and no mention of an upcoming increase. I never received any notification of of the increase, did anyone else?

Apparently it kicked in Sept 25th.

Sort of takes the edge off the upcoming TA sailing.

I'm sure the person to whom you spoke had no idea at that point. It was posted here a few days before it went up, so many were scrambling to purchase. Sorry you missed that. It's definitely pricey! We originally booked the TA in June, 2014, but we cancelled and rebooked in June, 2015 in order to get free UBP added to our booking. The cruise price had gone up a bit, but we saved hundreds of dollars, since we would have purchased UBP anyway.

I'm going to agree and say that whoever you spoke to at NCL had no idea. My husband and I have decided that it really depends on who you talk to when you call. I called the other day to ask some questions and the lady on the phone tried to tell me that we got the UBP, the specialty dining and the gratuities for free. I wish this was the case - but far from it. Anyways, just reinforces that it really depends on who you talk to.

Thanks! Is Vibe part of the spa? I'm new to cruising, but I only see the spa pass in my NCL account to purchase for $199.

Vibe is separate from the spa and is not available to be purchased before you get on the ship. I'm not sure what the cost will be for the Escape.

Do a skim through the threads on the NCL page and you will find tons of information about getting a Vibe pass (getting to the ship first/early seems to be the consistent advice).

What surprised me was no notification from NCL. They notified us about the increase in gratuities, and kept the old price if you pre-paid. But the UBP was a large increase in comparison, and no notification, not even a warning that it was coming when I asked about booking it later on. Just astoundingly bad customer service.

Why would they build a casino that is so open to the center of the ship. I sure hope that the smell of smoke won't be noticeable otherwise I will be annoying everyone with my chronic cough. I had issues with the casino on RCCL Oasis of the Seas and it wasn't as open as this appears to be.

On Getaway I did everything to avoid the casino. I don't like that layout either.

I've searched on the internet, but not exactly finding out the answer to this question.

When the ship is transferred from ship builder to owner (NCL). Besides just a ceremony. Is there a reason that the ship needs to be flagged even before it is delivered.

Yes, so they can pay the crew peanuts

It's Meyer's ownership, a German built vessel under German command. Not sure if it's legally required to fly a flag, I would assume it is but it also could be ceremonial as I don't see a large Germany sticker over the Nassau plaque.

Perhaps someone else can chime in.

All ships are required to fly a flag, the so called 'flag state'. The state which the vessel is flagged to is the country that will enforce the international regulations such as SOLAS (safety), MARPOL (Pollution), ISM (Safety Management). NCL choose the Bahamas as this is cheaper than having a vessel flagged to either the USA or an EU country such as the UK. When you build a vessel you intstruct the shipyard which flag you wish the vessel to fly. The vessel must be registered with a flag before she can undergo sea trials (the flag state along with the classification society are actively involved in the construction of the boat). The vessel therefore is not in German command but rather the shipyard and their investors own and are liable for the ship until the buyer accepts the trials and hands over the cheque
