OMG! Those Rolls

These rolls alone are worth the price of admission. I see now why they only keep them to Murano... they are delicious. I lost count on how many I had I think maybe five. This one stayed long enough on my saucer to get photographed.

Next pic is the salad that both Donna and I ordered. This is where you will first experience the coordinated service by the staff. The four plates are placed on the table at the same time. Interesting of note here: Murano is the only place that I have seen a sommelier chipping in to help the waiters. The Murano sommelier were a little different from other that we had experienced they actually had a sense of humour and could carry on conversation with you. Not a knock on sommeliers I just think they are a different breed.

The happy couple ready for their main course.

So our Chateaubriand arrives at table side and there are two distinct pieces of meat. I figured one for each couple.. Wrong! is was one for each person and ours was coming next. The waiter was not going to serve the "end" but all said, "oh no that is the best part." A picture of this superb meal offering next.

CE14GW_%25200483-XL.jpg

We all loved our meal and at first we didn't think we could eat all that meat. But, I know for sure that I finished all of mine. We wanted to catch the comedian late show so rather than bring out the cheese cart they brought out a small prepared cheese plate. Very Nice!

Up next Dessert and Comedian Fred Klett.

I love the Gelato so went for that and the women went for the Soufles

It was very close to 9:00PM by the time we were finished and rushed down to Equinox Theatre to catch Comedian Fred Klett. He was very funny and played up to the crowd. We went to this appearance based solely on opening night sneak a peak. I will not attempt to repeat his jokes because I would only mess them up and would think that Fred wasn't very funny.

We went up on deck 14 but did not stay for the St. Patty's day dance party. I know we are pretty boring. Early to rise early to bed.

That's it folks for our fine Murano experience. We will most likely give Murano another try on future cruises. I am glad I did not try to rush this part of the Trip Report last night. Murano deserved the extra effort.

Keep with me because St. Kitts and Zip Lining is tomorrow. Hope you are enjoying this Picture Trip Report (PTR) so far? Please post your comments and questions. I love comments.

Regards,

Kevin Reid

Kevin,

Every once in a while a cruise review comes along that without really trying, becomes an instant CC classic. Yours is one of those reviews. Your blend of photos and short and to the point story telling, makes for an wonderful yet informative read. Great stuff please keep the pictures coming!

Two questions 1) Any videos---time lapse? 2) I know you're not a drinker, but any bar menus?

Thank you for a great review!

Anxious to read about zip lining! We are going zip lining in St Kitts next week. I'm still wondering what I was thinking?! Lol!

I am probably going to capture a few freeze frames from my video footage to also share. I actually just looked for the first time at my Sony Video footage from a Go Pole Reach last night. Have not yet down loaded the Go Pro footage. Too busy with this Trip Report. Zip lining is fun fun fun I will get into that tonight. You have not made a mistake.

Thanks for the comments

Kevin Reid

Hi Julie,

So glad you are still with me. I think you will love Murano for your special evening. If you are booking on the ship doesn't hurt too ask for a discount the worst answer is no.

Costs are per person: For some reason I previously thought that an automatic 15% was added to the specialty bill but, it is not.

Murano: $45

Tuscan Grill: $35

Silk Harvest: $30

Bistro on Five: $5

Blu: Aqua Class only (suites if table available)

Other 'S' ship Specialty

Qsine: $45

Lawn Club $40

Ships also offer specialty dinning packages (where/When available). Best to check Celebrity web site for availability and pricing.

Kevin Reid

Here is the video from another CC member that did the zip in St Kitts

Yes! That is a good video and I had viewed it when it was first posted. This video along with other YouTube videos helped sway our decision to pick St Kitts over Barbados for Zip Lining.

Thanks for your comment and link.

I assume they allow regular cameras since there were pics. My daighter wants to take her iPhone 5s. She wants a Lifeproof, but there is no way to hold it other than her hand and we don't want her losing it (not really sure if a Lifeproof is even worth the $$). Any suggestions on how she can carry her phone while zip lining?

Well Hello Tommy,

Thank you such much for the EGO stroke please keep it coming.:D I have a fan website http://www.PCWjunkies.com (currently down) that expresses my love of Canada's Wonderland. I think it is important for fans of Celebrity to express why they are fans and hence this Trip Report. I just choose not to dwell in the petty negative things about your cruise.

Videos - I have tons of footage with very well intentioned plans for time lapse. I have this one sunset that took over half a hour and it is beautiful when you skim it in a few seconds. This may sound corny but I love the time lapse stuff that they do on CBS's Survivor. Nothing beats a quick cloud roll or quick sunrise sunset. On my PCWjunkies website I have many rollers coaster type videos and then my oldest son, Adam, tried his hand at it. Adam is so much better at it than me. For our 2011 and 2012 cruise I took all the video but, Adam created and edited a travel video of both. Adam is coming home for Easter so I am going to send him away with all the 2014 video footage hoping that he makes us a video. (I think Adam might be reading this Trip Report)

Actually here is a link to his Canival Valor video hosted at Vimeo it is a little long but, it was intended for our family and friends. I personally love his music selections he is responsible for getting me into and loving EDM or as some here call it "techno".

http://vimeo.com/23879722

Bar menus - Nope! Sorry! Like I said not much of a drinker.

Thanks again for the comment and question. I promise to post a link in this thread when I get a video posted and sorry about the bar menu thing.

Regards,

Kevin Reid

My suggestion is DON'T. If it is dropped it gone and the monkeys will have a real nice EXPENSIVE iPhone. Take a normal point and shot with you and the guides will use the wrist strap to tether it to your Harness. I had my iPhone5s with me in my fanny pack and only pulled it out on the ground to check my Go Pro App. The Lifeproof cases are great for dropping but it will not help you to retrieve from a 800 foot drop.

Hope this Helps?

Missed Mentioning Slut Pull

Please allow me to back track here a bit because I forgot to mention the FUN slot pull that Kathleen (Still-Learning) organized for second day at sea for our roll call. We all meet (all 44 of us) at the "Wheel of Fortune" slot machine at 2:45 PM as per directions. Everybody had $15 in hand which originally Kathleen planned on a Five max bet pulls person. But, Max Bet price was $3.75 not $3.00 Kathleen was happily that the math still worked out to 4 pulls person. I do not have any photos of this because the casino does not like you taking pictures in there. So one Wheel of Fortune machine got loaded up with $660 dollars or 2640 credits. Addie was the most successfully puller and we finished with almost as many credits as we started with and each player got $14 back. Not bad $1/per person for over an hour of entertainment.

Copied and pasted below are the Slut Pull rules that we followed:

1. The entrance fee is $15 per person - must have exact change ($10 and $5 bill work the best).

2. We will use a $1 Wheel of Fortune slot.

3. You play the maximum bet ($3.00) on the machine. (Changed to $3.75)

4. There will be FIVE pulls per participant. (Changed to 4 pulls)

5. You must sign-up in advance and be present to participate.

6. Once the first pull is taken, no one else can join in and the game is closed. The slot pull will end after the last person entered has taken their turn on the slot machine.

7. You have to be with the group at the finish to collect your share of the winnings. (I will NOT spend my time trying to track down people to give them their money.)

8. Please bring EXTRA $1.00 bills (in addition to entry fee) it is much easier to pay out at the end that way!

9. Remember this is a FUN event with a chance to gain a few dollars and enjoy the company of others in your group. I highly encourage everyone to cheer on the slot pullers and mingle with others in the group.

10. Keep track of the person who has the most winnings during their pulls, and that person gets all the change. For example, if the cash out is $15.75 per person, everyone gets $15, and the person with the highest pulls gets all the $.75's. You don't want to have to mess with coins.

Thanks Kathleen!

Regards,

Kevin Reid

St Kitt Sunrise and Moon Zoom

The further south we travelled the earlier the sunrise would be. The next picture is Equinox approaching St. Kitts a few minutes before the sun peaked out of the horizon.

CE14HX_%25200813-XL.jpg

Wake up all you sleepy head St Kitts is ahead of us. Now don't get the idea that I am a morning person I only like getting up early on cruises.

CE14KW_%25200150-XL.jpg

This next picture was taken at the same time as my pre sunrise pictures were taken. Please take note of the moon and how small it is. Yes that little white dot to the upper left of the rear smoke stack.

CE14HX_%25200808-XL.jpg

With this next picture I want to show you the Zoom and image stabilization capability of my Sony HX30V camera. This is hand held Zoom. Sony has replaced this Camera with the HX60V with even more impressive optical zoom of 30X. So what do you think of this?

CE14HX_%25200807-XL.jpg

St Kitts has not had an active volcano for over 400 years. I hope we don't push our luck on this trip. Next pick with the clouds rolling past the top of an old volcano. Picture taken from our balcony.

CE14HX_%25200852-XL.jpg

One more picture of the moon before the sun fades it away.

CE14HX_%25200856-XL.jpg

Zip Lining coming up next.

Kevin Reid

Pretty important to check that you don't mix up your "O"s with your "U"s. :o

Otherwise it could end up being a very "entertaining" game :p

I mixed up my cruises that pull was from our other cruise. Sorry about the mix up there.:p I did proof read and did correct one and missed the most important one. So much for the CC naughty word checker I guess slut is okay.

Hi Kevin, I just wanted to point out that if you put $660 in the machine and had 2640 credits you were playing a Quarter machine not a Dollar machine. I know, a minor detail, no big deal.

Enjoying your trip report. Thanks.

That is true, and where the confusion came from. Kathleen had assumed the Wheel of Fortune was still a dollar slot. Celebrity had recently changed it to a quarter.

Thanks Bill. I not only messed on the $1 thing but looks like you also missed my Freudian slip on the spelling of slot. By the way I was just putting out a test to see who would notice it. :D

Sorry Bill you lose but, I can tell you that you did miss out on all expense paid 7 day Aqua Class spring 2015 Caribbean cruise. But, do stay tuned there maybe a chance later in the Trip Report to redeem yourself.

Kevin Reid
