How to Book Excursions using OBC?

We have a some OBC for the April 28 Amsterdam Panama Canal cruise. How to I apply the OBC to excursions booked online ahead of the sailing? Thanks!

I don't believe you can use them prior to booking, thus the name "onboard" Credit.

That's one thing I discovered quickly. HAL charges for the excursions immediately. Quite a change for someone used to DCL where the excursions are charged once you're underway and OBC does in fact get applied to them. :(

You can't :( If you book ahead, you pay ahead.

 

Only way to use OBC is to wait until you are on-board to book your excursions. Of course then you take the chance they will be full. So if there is something you would be really upset about missing, it is best to book ahead of time and pay with your credit card.

Thanks for the replies. This is different than Princess, and frustrating. We have a lot of OBC as part of the recent sale. Guess I'll make a bee-line for the excursion desk as soon as I get on the ship.

I always have a lot of OBC and head for the excursion desk as soon as I board. However, if there is an excursion I really want to go on - I'll just bite the bullet and book in advance and pay in advance.

Booking in advance has the option to spread out some of your cruise costs.

You can use your OBC for your tips, alternative dining, etc. And others have mentioned that you can cash some of it out via the casino should you still have more left over.

Your credit card will be charged for online bookings.

 

Only onboard bookings will be deducted from your OBC.
