Ken Greco Posted April 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2014 Long time Royal Caribbean cruiser, thinking of going on the Caribbean Princess for the first time in January 2015. Any reviews of that ship recently?

RetiredNTraveling Posted April 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) It is a great ship! If you have been on any of the Grand Class ships then you have pretty much been on the Caribbean Princess. We have been on the Star, the Golden and the Caribbean and enjoyed each and everyone of them. :D When we were on it last fall, it was clean, bright and well taken care of. ;) But then again that was last fall. Edited April 2, 2014 by RetiredNTraveling
GoVikes Posted April 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2014 We were just on the Caribbean Princess a few weeks ago. We enjoyed the ship, and wouldn't hesitate to cruise on her again. But we did notice a few things needing repair, like missing tiles around the pool and the worst mattresses ever!! We were told she is heading for dry dock later this month. I'm sure she'll be looking good next month. :)

Pam in CA Posted April 4, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 4, 2014 How where the shows and performers on the CP?Just FYI, the Princess 2-letter abbreviation for the Caribbean Princess is "CB." The "CP" is the Sea Princess. When someone refers to the CP, it could be the Crown (KP), the Coral (CO), the Caribbean or the Sea Princess. :) If you use CB, people will know which ship you're referring to. It's generally acknowledged that the entertainment on Royal Caribbean is better than on Princess but there's still plenty to do every evening with a wide variety of options scheduled throughout the evening, often at the same time. Princess ships aren't as wide open as Royal Caribbean ships. They have a number of lounges, show lounge, theater, etc. and the CD schedules entertainment in all of them. RickEk Posted April 4, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) How where the shows and performers on the CP? When I sailed the Caribbean Princess back in December, the production shows were good. British Invasion was quite fun. Hawley Magic were the magicians and they were good in an over-the-top David Copperfield sort of way. There was live music throughout the ship in the evenings. I certainly wasn't bored... :) Edited April 4, 2014 by RickEk

While we're standardizing, the ship's name is a pronoun. Donald Trump has dibs on prefacing his name with "the".:p Edited April 5, 2014 by Stevesan
Lady Longhorn Posted April 5, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 5, 2014 I thought the entertainment was great. The ship is showing some wear and tear, but hopefully the dry dock will take care of that. The Bayport Cruise Terminal was our main problem, but we're going again next week. We will watch closely to see when she docks and time our arrival accordingly. Hanging around the Houston Ship Channel is not much fun. She docked at about 6:30 am today.
