Cable Beach

Sailing on Oasis this weekend !!!! Stopping in Nassau on Sunday. Just wondering if parts of Cable Beach are free, or are we required to pay for use through a Hotel. Also any thoughts on Cable beach? Yay/Nay?

I would like to bump this as I am quite interested in the answer for our May cruise. We have a 3 and 4 year old and are trying to figure out the best, yet inexpensive options in Nassau. Public beaches certainly seem like one of them!

There is a public entrance to Cable Beach but no facilities.

 

Cabbage Beach Paradise Island may be too rough for young children. No restrooms but chairs & drinks are available. Jetski's, Banana boat and parasailing is also available.

 

Junkanoo beach just a 17 minute walk from ship has full facilities. Good for small children.

There are several public entry points to Cable Beach, but there are NO amenities, no restrooms, no food/drink and NO lifeguards. The beach is natural and unkept, so debris and broken glass can be an issue on these parts of the beach. The area is also quite desolate, so can be a little dicey. There have been some robberies on the "off the beaten path" beaches.

 

With little one, I suggest either a beach with amenities and others nearby, or a day pass to a hotel beach with lifeguards.
