What's in those empty spaces on BA deck 10?

Near the aft staircase is definitely some space for the smokestacks (starting 10246/10846, ending 10260/10860) going up.

Methinks it contains cabins for high level crew members.

 

Generally, NCL only has the Captain, Staff Captain, Hotel Director, and all Deck Officers with cabins anywhere near the guest areas. These would be in the "whited" out area aft of the bridge on deck 14. 99% of crew, including senior hotel staff, engineering officers, etc, are on decks 2-4, and then there are the areas of the bow on decks 6 & 7. Lots of entertainers berthed there.

 

Yes, the engine casing where the exhausts go up would be aft of the aft stairs in the two spaces either side of the entrance to Spice H2O, on deck 16. These spaces run vertically from deck "0" to the funnel.

I would bet that a large percentage is A/C equipment rooms.

Just back and can report most of the empty spaces on deck 10 across the hall from us were Equipment rooms and of course, the aft elevators.

We did not find any farm animals or stashes of nickels and dimes in the empty spaces.

Mystery solved.

This was the best cruise we've ever taken.
