pe4all Posted April 21, 2014 #51 Share Posted April 21, 2014
Vicki, your PVP was correct. My premier offer arrived in snail mail Saturday the 19th, which is almost 2 weeks after it appeared online. And the snail mail info shows the cruise cash dollar amount offer which never shows online.
I was just about to post the same thing you did! Got an e-mail offer on 4/9, and yesterday's mail brought the postcard offer, which showed the casino cash. While the cash is good, the cruise rate is not, so I will pass on this batch and stick with my NCL casino rate cruise for August.
Georgiagolfer Posted April 21, 2014 #52 Share Posted April 21, 2014
Pricing for the current Premier Cruises is quite high compared to previous years. I'm not finding them a very good offer and won't be going on one. My offer came in the snail mail and most of the cruises offered are 7 or 8 days and states I would receive $250 casino cash and that the rates are up to 35% off fun select rates. The only problem with that is the fun select rate is the highest rate there is.
The rate offered on these sailings is the same rate I priced on another site. There is no discount, and the rates for these dates are actually higher than the dates 1-2 weeks prior and 1-2 weeks after. CCL raises the rate, offers casino cash (which they will get back), and they have you all wrapped up. Not such a great deal after all, IMO. mickide Posted April 21, 2014 #53 Share Posted April 21, 2014
Just booked this cruise through the casino. Wendy and John... we just returned from the 4 day imagination.. we had a fantastic time.the fantasy class ship is out favorite... all parts easy to get to and we are not into the frills... shows and gambling are what we do..well food has some importantance:) John
Welcome to the roll call! I guess since we have the casino offer too, we like a little gambling, but for us it's all about the great friends, Serenity deck and cold adult beverages :-). As I said earlier, for us it took a couple hundred of the rate we already had booked plus gave us cash so we think it's a great deal. Some of us (who spend very little in the casino) are actually happy with the offer :-). Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

We budget $600.00 a day for the casino. They gave us 1K in casino cash so I am already ahead for at least my first day. We booked an unobstructed extended balcony for 7 days including al taxes etc. for $700.00 each. Like I said it was too good to pass up.
winddawn Posted April 22, 2014 Author #56 Share Posted April 22, 2014
Winddawn, Thanks for the information! I was somewhat surprised when I saw Heald's name on the latest "regular" offer....maybe somebody thought they should give it another shot for less than full sailings. I am really starting to think that NCL has the better casino type stuff (better VP machines, better comps, etc) but their points are twice as much money......I guess that is the trade off.....harder to get, but worth more....happy sailings to you! Joe
Thanks for sharing this info, Joe. That is very interesting about the casino offers coming from John Heald. I think we need a new thread on the board to ask how many others are getting casino offers from JH. That seems like an odd arrangement for a cruise director to be managing casino comps. I think once I do my milestone cruise, I may jump ship too, except for Carnival's solo discounts. That is the only offer that seems attractive to me right now with Carnival. I was also considering Celebrity (their Tuesday deals) because of their no smoking policy in the casino.
clcjdn Posted April 22, 2014 #57 Share Posted April 22, 2014 Winddawn, One other note I picked up when I booked my latest on NCL. When you book through their CAS department, there is no single supplement charge. My MIL booked through me and an inside cabin for 1 was cheaper than their new 1 person studios. You might think about giving them a shot if you haven't already.
MURCOTT Posted April 29, 2014 #58 Share Posted April 29, 2014
We are booked on the Splendor for 9/6. Can't wait. We love the premier casino crusies, as they are soooo much fun.
We just booked this cruise today with the Casino Premier Cruise offer. We have never taken advantage of this before and are looking forward to it. The perks were too good to pass up. Also the fact that we can drive to N.Y. and have no airline cost was a good selling point.

USA41018 Posted April 30, 2014 #60 Share Posted April 30, 2014 Carnival added another cruise since the Freedom 8/24 sold out so fast. When my PVP told me I booked it right away since it is so cheap. Check out the Glory 5/31. With the Casino cash and free drinks in the Casino its a no trainer. Went on a premier casino cruise last October and was treated like a VIP. clcjdn Posted April 30, 2014 #61 Share Posted April 30, 2014 Didn't hear about the Glory. I like those ports! Too bad we already booked and paid for the NCL Getaway over Labor Day. Thanks for the info!
