workinmom3 Posted April 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Last cruise on Explorer was in 2012, before the drink packages. DH & I purchased the wine pkg & really enjoyed having wine each night at dinner. We had purchased the "middle" pkg which I think was the Platinum one. In looking at the wine lists available this year, it seems there aren't as many wines as I remember. I'm sure most people just go with the drink pkg & not the wine & dine but looking for some opinions if anyone has recently used it. We are sailing on Allure in May. papaflamingo Posted April 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2014 It's only one package now. We get it every cruise. We usually preorder, but on the last cruise it was listed for full price, not the "savings" price. So we waited to order on board and the price was correct. So look at the average price per bottle and see if it makes sense. Also we found the menu was incorrect. Don't know if they are changing it (hope not), but if they are it may not be worth it. Should run around $30 per bottle depending on number ordered. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Dajbman22 Posted April 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Daghis went through the trouble of making a handy spreadsheet to show which wines currently offered on the Wine & Dine are "worth it" and by how much: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=40938524&postcount=
Astona Posted April 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2014 The freedom had machines that pour'd wine by using your seapass. If you like that you can buy it by the glass that way
