riffatsea Posted April 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2014 We just got back from a great cruise on the Miracle which had 1 day in Cabo and 2 days(with an overnight) in Puerto Vallarta. We really loved spending more time in PV and hoped to do another cruise like it next year! Sadly:mad::mad: I see that all the spring(March/April) 2015 cruises are 2 days in Cabo and only 1 in PV. Are we the only ones that like it the other way around???? We are so bummed we might actually end up on another line:eek:
Fitzget Posted April 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2014 I'm booked for November on Miracle and it's 2 in Cabo and 1 in PV. Have to say, when I was looking to book I was really disappointed that it changed. I really love PV and really wanted 2 days there. PV is one of my favorite vacation spots. I've spent 10 days there at a time and it's still not enough. I wonder why they did that? Fingers crossed that they reverse it back. rainbowflag Posted April 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) We feel the same and booked the Miracle back in February solely BECAUSE of the overnight in PV. It was great to spend the night at the condo in the Romantica Zone, it felt like two vacations in one. My guess is it's about the almighty $ because the shops and casino stay closed that night in PV and the lost revenue hits the bottom line. Too bad because we won't book for sailings with two nights in Cabo. I suppose that only adds insult to injury to you, Carnival. ;) Edited April 13, 2014 by rainbowflag

Laurie S. Posted April 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2014 We prefer two days in Cabo because the diving is so much better.
welldone60 Posted April 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2014 Our Splendor cruise was two days in PV and we loved it. We like Cabo also and if they would stay longer in port (or overnight) there it would really be nice. They say they can't tender at night, but other lines can do it, so like a previous poster said, it's about the dollars.
JLee1973 Posted April 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 14, 2014 I prefer the two days in Cabo did not really care for PV.
riffatsea Posted April 14, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted April 14, 2014 We are actually thinking of booking an NCL cruise that also goes to Mazatlan instead of the 2 nights in Cabo. We sometimes don't even get off the ship in Cabo but we don't dive so I can understand wanting to go there for that reason. Actually if the ship went INTO the Sea of Cortez to La Paz then I'd like that too because the water there is warmer than the Pacific. Oh well! I doubt that they will change just for us but I did tell them on the e-mail survey that I just filled out that I may have to leave Carnival because of this itinerary!

We cancelled last February's Miracle Cabo-PV-PV cruise and booked Princess in March 10 day LA-San Diego-Cabo-La Paz-Loreto-PV. Princess is doing the same/similar 9 and 10 day itins out of San Francisco and LA in 2015. Seriously considering the 9 day in January in the Grand. It will miss San Diego. We did miss the vibrancy of Carnival. The average age was 78. Edited April 14, 2014 by SadieN
riffatsea Posted April 14, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted April 14, 2014 Thanks Sadie ! I will look at Princess but DH doesn't want to have to dress for dinner more formally than the relaxed "elegant night" shirt and slacks on Carnival. NCL is the only other line that allows informal dress on all nights.
Sheebah Posted April 14, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 14, 2014 Yes, such a bummer. It was nice to have the choice. For us, anything beats mazatlan, but Pv is Nice and tropical - I'm sure many ppl are bummed. Carnival Miracle video tour:

riffatsea Posted April 14, 2014 Author #13 Share Posted April 14, 2014 Good to know Sadie!! Sadly the 10 day cruise into the Sea of Cortez is Easter weekend and also the week of Passover, in 2015 and I don't think I want to travel then. Will keep it in mind though!:p
cruizinator Posted April 14, 2014 #14 Share Posted April 14, 2014 (edited) I stopped going to Mexican Riviera on Carnival when they reduced ports...from 3 to 2. Hopefully...they'll reconsider in 2015/2016. Edited April 14, 2014 by cruizinator
