Galveston - Will I Have Problem Getting Cabs?

Looking for advice from recent Galveston cruisers or locals.

After reading some recent posts regarding people having problems getting cabs to Port Galveston I am starting to worry. We arrive at Hobby airport the day prior to cruise and need a ride to our hotel in the Clear Lake/NASA area. Will I have a problem getting a cab for this? Should I pre-book a shuttle service?

 

The day of cruise I will need a ride from the hotel in Clear Lake (Courtyard Marriott NASA) to Galveston cruise port. Will I have a problem? Should I try to pre book a shuttle service? Any advice is appreciated and thank you in advance for your help.

Getting a cab to your hotel probably won't be a problem. You'll probably have an issue getting to Galveston though from the hotel. I would price out shuttle services.

Consider that it was a few, not thousands, that had an issue:rolleyes:

In 11 years here, this was the first time a taxi issue has been brought up.

From hobby to ckear lake there will be plenty of cabs at airport.

 

I would use private limo from Clearlake to Galveston .

Elite and Royal have been mentioned on this forum

And couple others.

 

Considering I don't know when you are cruising.

Unless you are staying around NASA to do NASA specifically,

You would probably come out better

Coming on to Galveston and staying at hotel

With transfers to terminal.
