shark62 Posted April 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2014 I am looking for feedback on weather, sea conditions and number of children typically on celebrity over Thanksgiving week. Thank You!
wallie5446 Posted April 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) It is a holiday, kids are out of school, family's travel together. There will be more on board than normal. If you don't want to be around more than a few, wrong week to sail almost any main stream line. Weather, no problem. Sea's will have 4-8 ft swells going out of Florida, then calm a bit on the 2nd day. Reflection, wonderful. zelker Posted April 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2014 We've done it once - never again (only our second cruise and we had no idea what to expect ;)). If you enjoy cruising with a LOT of kids and families, go for it. If you like a quieter, more relaxing cruise, plan for another time.
wallie5446 Posted April 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2014 Our last true holiday sailing was Thanksgiving week on the Century in 1998. Our DD loved it. We did a sailing in 2000 that we departed the Horizon on Christmas eve morning, there were a good many families waiting to board.
Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted April 18, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 18, 2014 I've done 3 of these and they were fabulous, but they were 14-night cruises. That limits the number of children. Weather was great and seas were calm.
cruising maniac Posted April 19, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 19, 2014 We cruise every year over Thanksgiving and go without our children. Yes, there will be more kids but as long as they are behaved it is not a problem. Last year we were on that other cruise line that begins with a "C" and there were 1500 kids and 3000 adults. Kids were everywhere but they were having fun and not behaving badly. Frankly, I am hoping for less kids on this cruise.
