character meal

The character breakfast is only on the classic ships on cruises with at least 3 sea days. No need to book ahead, and no choice of time/day. Each family gets a "ticket" in their stateroom on arrival. Your seating is based on your dinner assignment.

Yes, if you have a conflict with your assigned time, your head server MAY be able to give you an alternative, but it won't be with your regular servers and so won't be as much fun.

It depend on your dinner seating. Late dining has character breakfast at like 9:30. Main is much earlier than that, but it's been a long time since we did main. Maybe 7:30(?) but I'm really not sure on that one. FYI, the character breakfasts on the ship are not nearly as nice as at the resort restaurants. They are fun, but the character interaction is quite minimal as there are a lot of people to see in a very short time.

On the older classic ships Magic and Wonder that have seven nights and at least two > three sea days, or a late arrival in port there will be a character breakfast.

You will be assigned a time, normally for main dinner the breakfast is at 8am.

Often its the (sea day) Morning after you are in Animators palate.

We are on a 7 night sailing on the magic in June which has two sea days, hope we do have the chance of a character breakfast. Which restaurant do they have it in? Just wondering as my dad is in a wheelchair and I have asked for an a accessible table for our main dining. Would I be right in presuming they would take this into consideration for the breakfast as well ?

On 7 night cruises with 2 sea days, there is usually one "late" port day when the ship doesn't arrive till 10-12. That morning counts as a sea day to allow for the character breakfast.

Depending on the ship, Parrot Cay/ whatever they renamed it on the Magic is used for the character breakfast. You will sit at your normal table assignment. When I cruised with a friend who needs a wheelchair, we had a table on an aisle in each dining room. It made it easy for her to either stay in the wheelchair or transfer to a regular dining room chair (which she preferred). YES, his needs will be met at the character breakfast.

Also, don't know how much you know about wheelchairs on the ship. There is seating in the theaters at the back, but if he can transfer you can go early to the main door. The CM there will escort you thru some crew only passages to the lower entrance and you can transfer to a front row seat IF you are early enough. They are not reserved seats, so if other guests got them first, too bad. The wheelchair will be stored and brought to you after the show. There is also a wheelchair area for the pirate and welcome aboard show. Not great viewing (but no one has great viewing on the main level)...but at least a restricted spot where no one can run him over! Again, arrive a few minutes early and ask any CM where it is. For us, it as basically in front and to the right of Pinocchio's. Also...if they close Shutters and want you to detour outside to get thru, don't do it! Go back to the elevator and go to another floor. If you do the detour, the re-entry spot has a steep stoop where we couldn't get over with the chair.
