Question re: 2 People Playing Same Account

While it may not be technically allowed, my wife and I usually only use copies of one account when playing at land based casinos. Much easier reaching a status level, that way.

 

I have done the same thing on cruises, by asking for another copy of one of our cards and

the we can both play with the one account.

 

Never had a problem, until my last cruise.

 

On that one, the casino host came running up to me, all upset, while I was playing at a machine. He said "you and your wife are using the same account and

that is not allowed". He then went over to where my wife was playing and told her to remove her copy of the card.

 

A land based host once told me that in his personal opinion, it was OK, as we were both playing with family funds and it was double money going to the casino.

 

Just wondering about player's thoughts.

We have our accounts in the land based casinos linked together so it accomplishes the same thing. I see no issue with you doing it, but it's a way for the cruiseline to keep the benefits paid out to high players lower.

My host at the Taj in Atlantic City new we played for years on just my card. This let us gain much more status. He would always ask is your hubby coming? He knew the play would look better. Hen one day my hubby wanted to go without me and I called my host and he made my hubby his own card. Now both of us are chairmen level players. I guess I didn't need him after all lol. Chairmen level is equivalent to diamond status at Harrahs Caesars.

On NCL, my DW's CAS card and mine are linked anyway, since we're sailing in the same cabin and on the same shipboard account. Although we have separate CAS cards, the casino considers our points in total for purposes of comps and credits.

That host sounds like a real butthead. I have had hosts at more than one casino suggest my wife and I use a copy card so we are rated higher. The host would usually say as long as you are in the same room it is no problem and a way to get comped faster.

 

I have also been in casinos that won't rate you at BJ for less than $25.00 a hand. My wife and I like to play $15.00 a hand and they would rate us as one hand at $30.00.

 

Like I said that host sounds like a butthead to me.

My wife and I had a butthead on our previous cruise on the Carnival Pride. She was rude to us and other cruisers. People would talk about her at our poker table. I wanted to report her but my wife wouldn't let me.

We also play on the same accounts at land based casinos, it's the way to go to build credits.
