DRS/NC Posted April 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2014 I'll be visiting the Causeway in mid-July. Any tips about the weather? I'm not concerned about rain/sun, more about wind & cool-to-cold. I know that the temps for that time of year in Belfast are usually mid-50s to mid-60s. But out on the north coast, is it more apt to be blustery? Thanks! Tony & Trevor Posted April 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2014 yes it could be windy but not too cold.
SixOneTwo Posted April 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2014 On our visit last August we did need jackets. It was breezy (not "knock you over" windy, but at least "mess up your hair" windy) and there was some rain. It's still completely worth the visit, despite the weather. DRS/NC Posted April 28, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted April 28, 2014 The Causeway is my #1 sightseeing goal on this cruise! I just wondered (rough idea) how cool & windy to expect there on the N. Atlantic -- pack my Irish sweater or not. Thanks!
sparky-elpaso Posted April 28, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 28, 2014 I'm packing for our Great Britain / TA cruise in August/Sept. the way we did for Alaska - layers. Jeans, long and short sleeved tees and turtlenecks, a couple of sweatshirts and flannel shirts and water resistant jackets with hood. That way we're ready for all types of weather. The Causeway is at the top of our list for excursions too.
bubblesqueaker Posted May 4, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 4, 2014 (edited) Hi there, I live just north of Belfast. Expect the weather to be anything between 50-75f. It can be unpredictable but I would work on Jeans, t-shirt or top and a cardigan. The wind is normally blustery in the autumn - winter months. The Giants Causeway is really fantastic to visit, and the journey up to it will hopefully let you see some stunning views! I hope you enjoy your visit! :-) Edited May 4, 2014 by bubblesqueaker
