Carnival Room Service Menu

Recommended Posts

I am not sure if there is already a thread on this or not, but does anyone else feel that Carnival's room service menu is extremely lacking. I love the concept of breakfast in bed or breakfast on the balcony, and I assume others do as well. I think it would be nice if they got some hot items on their menu to make this idea realistic. I was just curious what others thought or if anyone new of any changes in the works since they are already changing the MDR

It may not be a bad idea for Carnival to offer additional hot items for an additional charge, however.

I think it could be a good revenue stream for them. Keep the current free menu bit add a hot breakfat plate for say $5. But them there would be complaints about it not being hot on arrival which is probably the reason they do not offer those items now.

I love their roomservice menu. You can get salmon with your bagel and cream cheese. The steak and shrimp sandwiches are fantastic, not to mention the Ruebens and pastrami are to die for too. Yummy Chocolate cake. We were just on the MSC Divina.....Now that is the worst roomservice anywhere. Makes carnivals look like a 5 star. We get roomservice at least once a day at some time during each day.

I manage to find something on the room service menu that suits my needs, and it not, I'll run up to the buffet for breakfast, or Lido for late night snacks to get something to munch on. One thing I like about RC is the food offerings on the Promenade, and the buffalo wings on the room service menu, although I heard that stop service them a while ago.

I agree that the room service menu is lacking.......

Another cruise line I ventured on 6 or 7 years ago had full breakfast on the menu.......

Plus during dinner hours you could order off the dining room menu. We did not feel like dressing up on formal night with a small child and had our lobster etc in the room.

I have no problem with Carnival's room service menu. During a 7 or 8 day cruise I will use it for breakfast about 3 or 4 times. I dont normally eat bacon, eggs, pancakes etc for breakfast, so the continental suits me fine. I usually order croissant and fruit, or bagel and smoked salmon.

I also love that chicken fajita, and the caesar salad. And I have ordered the vegetable tray. I dont usually spend a lot of time in my room while on a cruise, so have not tried much else from the menu, but lots of things that I would like to try such as that chocolate cake that so many rave about, and also the BLT.

But really I am quite satisfied with what they offer for room service.:)

Someone mentioned on another post that you could get a cheese plate from room service. Is this like the cheese plate they give you in the MDR? Anyone know? It's not listed as an item on the menu.

I have never seen this on the room service menu. But if there was one thing that I would like to see added to the menu it would be this.

I have once ordered it in the MDR and brought it back to the room for later, but I am reading that it is hit or miss, whether they let you do this. So, yes I would love to see them add that cheese plate to the room service menu.

I suppose you could always call room service and ask for it. You never know, might be lucky.

I agree it is lacking. We cruised another line to Europe a couple of years ago and could order anything the dining room was serving in our room. We did have a high category verandah, but loved having breakfast on the balcony. It was definitely worth the extra $$ to me. I wish Carnival would add this perk. I would gladly pay extra for the benefit.

i dont get all the complaining about the room service menu. Unless you never leave the room. For us, the room service menu provided that 2 am blt after the casino, or a turkey sandwich for me. More than enough. Kids ordered cookies and milk sometimes at night, and on port days hot cocoa, milk, and cereal did the trick (can order blt in the am as well).

Its FREE except for a few dollar tip, and i would like to see it stay that way. Last year we cruised with a couple who had small kids. They did use the room service to work around naps, ect. They said the pbj, grilled cheese, steak sandwich, potatoe salad, and wrap were delish.

I like to start the morning with a cup of coffee. Is it overkill to have room service bring me coffee then go to the MDR once I wake up?

First time cruising,obviously.

Certainly not overkiill. You can finish your first cup of coffee while getting ready and then head up for breakfast. We ordered each morning as they had tomato juice and they did not have it at the buffett. My DH loved being able to have a couple cups of tomato juice and his morning cig on the balcony while he waited for me to get ready.

Yes, lacking, so I always head up to the lido restaurant and make and deliver my own platter. Have to rethink this on ships that are doing away with the trays.

Then it's a nice breakfast on the balcony watching the sun rise, providing I'm in the right side of the ship.

Love the room service the way it is. Fruit, Danish and coffee as an early morning breakfast. Then maybe shoot up to the MDR for sea day brunch. Eggs get cold so fast. Don't think I'd order them.

I've never had an issue with the room service menu either. However, a cheese plate added in would be fantastic! And yes the pb&j's are great. They come toasted and I always order choc chip cookies with it. Perfect late night snack.
