Disembarking in Mumbai - currency question

I'm aware that we can't get rupees before arriving in Mumbai. Can anyone tell me how we get currency so we can pay for a taxi to our hotel?

Our Canadian bank buys and sells rupees, at least according to their website. I hope we can because it is awkward without some local cash in hand! See the Cruise Critic port review

Thank you. Someone else mentioned that Thomas Cook may sell rupees.
