Playa Mia w/ Grandkids

If you search you can find Mitsugirly's review of Playa Mia, which should be perfect for your grandkids and you - nice beach, water park, etc. Taxi, depending slightly upon which pier you are at will run about $16 each way for up to 4 in the cab - if the kids are small you'll need to bring your own car seats (I would tip the driver a couple of extra bucks for the time involved with installing and uninstalling the seats). Good luck! :)

I'm sailing Carnival too, & booked Playa Mia. I noticed that Carnival doesn't offer it as an excursion on my sailing either, so I booked directly on Playa's website. You can book a number of packages on the website, admission only, all inclusive, etc. I would check it out.

There's no need to book directly with the cruise ship (well, now you can't with Carnival so you say :p), just book online with no problems and grab a cab there.

I have a complete review with TONS of pictures in my signature line.
