Recommended Hotel in Santiago

Hubby and I are looking for a hotel that is located near attractions, restaurants,transportation and won't break the bank. Please let us know your thoughts.

I have commented previously on this Board about our good experience during an extended stay (Feb.-March 2013) at the Hotel Orly in the Providencia district. Near restaurants, moderately priced, in a safe area, 5 min walk to subway (and then 10 min to downtown). We stayed in the main hotel (nice breakfast included). They also have self-contained apartment units in a nearby building. My detailed review is at

Another yes for Hotel Orly. It is a boutique hotel and no two rooms are alike. Lots of reasonable restaurants to eat around too.

We visited the Orly Hotel a few years ago and the elevator didn't work. The hotel looked a bit run down compared to the photos on the internet.

 

Our last visit to Santiago in January, we stayed at El Bosque San Sebastian, which I highly recommend.

We would agree with everything JD wrote. We had an excellent 2 days at the Orly in February this year. Not run down, lift a bit antiquated but worked, lots of local bars and restaurants, good breakfast.
