Back to back /consecutive cruises?

Recommended Posts

I am posting this both here and the Canada forum as I wasn't sure which was more appropriate...

We booked a 1 night cruise for. Seattle to Vancouver and another 3night from Vancouver to San Pedro, CA where we live. A friend tried to call and link these 2 cruises together and the cruise line told her this was not allowed. I had no problem booking them separately however. I am wondering if anyone has booked a consecutive itinerary and had to debarked and reboard for the 2nd cruise. If so, did they at least store your luggage for you??

The problem is that is considered booking a trip from Seattle to San Pedro (if there is not at least one day between the cruises) and violates US laws. A trip between two different US cities requires a stop in a far foreign country (the closest is Aruba or Cartegena Columbia.

duck addict is correct. And as to if "they" (whomever that might be) store your bags, there are a couple of things to consider. First, for most cruise lines, you can stay on the ship until around 9:30, and will be able to start reboarding around 11:30 or so. So after any customs or immigration formalities you might have 90 minutes to kill.

If you ask on the board for the cruise line you are referring to, you might find some procedure to rapidly re-check your bags after clearing customs, just like flights that arrive in the US.

Van-Sea, Sea-LA is a violation of the PVSA.

Assuming you're doing a cruise ending in Vancouver then wanting to take the ship to LA?

Every year this situation pop up and every year there are complaints of finding out later on (bumped from the cruise) that it is not allowed.

Best advice is to debark in Vancouver, take some sort of transportation (other than the ship) to Seattle and board there.

Better to do this now than later. SOmetimes this isn't allowed either.

One work around is to change cruiselines.

On a regular B2B you leave you luggage in your cabin and it will magically appear in your new cabin. If you have the same cabin you don't need to pack. (This is for US ports. Other countries do things differently.)

The OP isn't going VAN-SEA, they are going SEA-VAN.

Thanks. Comprehension isn't too good right now;).

Advice still stands, drive to the cruise that goes to San Pedro.
