Princess take-on soda/soft drinks?

Hi folks,

Possibly a naïve question from a cruising newbie!

I am going on a Med cruise on Emerald Princess in September from Southampton. I know that Princess have a restriction on take-on alcoholic drinks, but has anyone had any experience re carrying on soft drinks? I would like to take some for the cabin. Have only cruised once before, on HAL, and the cabin drinks were expensive for what they were. Any advice gratefully received!

Last several cruises, we've brought on a plastic crate with soft drinks (hubby will paste a luggage tag on it and give to a porter with some cash). We either stow it under a bed or in the closet. I'm not a fan of Coke products so I like to bring Mountain Dew and Sobe. If we're not driving to our home port (San Pedro), we will make a stop the day before our cruise (by then, we're in our embarkation city) and get the soft drinks and our box o'wine.

You can't bring on alcohol other than a limited amount of wine.

There is no limit for soda or water on Princess

Though if you are a heavy water drinker, the tap water is tasty and pure on Princess, so rather than lug a case of bottled water, just a few bottles to refill may save you some trouble.

I agree - this is what we do re: water.

RE: soft drink, take as much as you want, but I find their unlimited soda package easier, if you drink a lot of it.

welcome to cruise critic and congratulations on your fist post!

Thanks! Had to start somewhere!

BTW, My first cruise was last year - round trip to Alaska from Vancouver. Totally fell in love with Canada as well as cruising!

Thank you to everyone for all your advice and replies. Really looking forward to my second cruise now!!
