Price Drop Question

Having booked a cruise today I'll be watching for a price drop - o.k., o.k. - we know the prices usually just go up :o but now that we get a 1 level cabin upgrade - which price am I checking. I booked a C1 and was charged the C2 rate (yippee) but what am I watching now? If the C2 price drops lower than what we paid or does the C1 need to drop lower than the than the C2 price. Confused.

 

Also my sister also booked the cabin next to ours - she is only Classic while we are mere Select - they didn't give her the upgrade price - is she entitled to it or do you have to be a certain level? I booked through Captain's Club should she give them a call.

You are looking for a drop in the STANDARD PRICE of a C2 in your case....and that is NOT necessarily the price shown on celebrity's web site. Recently when you go to the celebrity site to book, you find they have posted travel agent fares (not useable for lowest price guarantee) or other "special prices" also which aren't useable for the lowest price guarantee.

 

So far, from what I've seen, there's not much chance of celebrity lowering the price in a way that you can take advantage of it....unless, you are willing to cancel your current reservation and rebook with none of your current perks (including no captain's club upgrade because those special fares aren't useable with that benefit either).

 

I'm a little miffed at the fine print in the lowest price guarantee and the captain's club upgrade, because like everyone, I like a bargain. Just don't think it will happen to us or you.
