Ft. Laurderdale to Port of Miami

We are flying into FLL and will need transportation to the Port of Miami for our cruise. I have several questions: 1) Hotel recommendation in FLL for the night before the cruise? 2) Shuttle service for three passengers? 3) After the cruise we are spending another night in FLL and would like to find a hotel that would allow a late check out since our flight is early evening. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

www.sunny.org has lots of tourist and lodging info. You do not mention dates or a budget  which would help to provide you with more focussed responses. We like to stay at the Embassy Suites - nice pool, dining and shopping options nearby and a free happy hour. :D

There are several shuttle operators to choose from who are often suggested on these boards - SAS (www.ridesas.com) QLS (quality limo service), & Go Airport to name the 3 most popular ones -- check their web sites for a list fo FLL area hotels they pick up from.

You could look into one way car rentals - at the MIA airport National, Alamo and Thrifty offer free shuttle service to/from POM. If you find a deal at a downtown locaiton from any car rental agency that does not offer a shuttle, a cab to/from POM will only run $12-13+tip.

Our suggestion will be the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood FL, for the night before and after (they are flexible with guest timings) As for a shuttle, it is probably better just to take a taxi from the hotel as it may cost less than three individual pax in a shuttle, and you leave the Hotel at your wish rather than at the wish of the shuttle.

Have a great cruise

We fly into FLL, then renting a car from Avis. Staying 2 nights at Hollywood Beach Marriott - Saturday Morning we will drive ourselves to downtown Miami to drop off Avis. Either Avis will shuttle us to POM or we will just hop a cab.

My car rental is under $80, taxes included and my room rate at the hotel includes parking.
