We would rent a car but there are 6 of us and Im not willing to drive on the left side.

has anyone ever hired a tax/ car /driver for 4 hours to beach hop. Maybe a beer stop also.Any idea the cost.

Sounds like a fun day.

Based on regulated taxi rates, your itinerary could either be a 2 hour tour or private tour. Standard 2 hour tours are approximately $25 pp, but are more scenic and historical narration.

Private tour rates are negotiable, but you should set a limit as to how much time you want to spend at a beach. If you only want photo ops, you need to clearly communicate that to the taxi drivers.

St John beaches aren't easy to leave, because they're all so gorgeous when conditions are right. You can find photos of all StJ beaches at many websites, but even the best of them can't express the total real experience.

I was thinking about a hour each beach. That gives us a good time to see plenty.

would be nice to have a local driver. I don't really want a tour just someone who knows where to take us. drop on and off type of thing. Nice to have the vehicle waiting for us.

If you want the driver to wait for you for an hour at each beach, they will most likely charge you an hourly rate that is set by the govt or a negotiated rate for a day long tour. The minimum, though, will be $25 pp.

Done it many times but normally when we have at least 10 - 15 people. We rent a safari taxi and driver for about four hours. Price ranged from $250 - $300. It's been a few years, though, since we took a big group to St. John so I'm not sure what pricing might be now.

Ask when you get off the ferry. They will negotiate and work with you!

Have fun!
