Considering on going on Alure for 2nd time, possible boredom?

Recommended Posts

So I have a dilemma, I can only cruise in July, we love the Caribbean, and this severely limits our options as many cruise ships flee the Caribbean during the summer.

I specifically want to do Easter Caribbean this time as I am sick of Jamaica. This leaves me with the NCL Getaway, Caribbean Princess, or Alure.

Caribbean Princess is out, the ship is just too old and after having been on the Alure last year I think I would feel cramped. I am leaning towards the Alure but I really, really hate that they don't seem to rotate entertainment at all? It looks like the exact same shows with maybe a different comedian.

I'm sure many experienced cruisers here can speak to how they deal with this dearth of entertainment options and I'd be really interested to know? I don't want to pick the Getaway just for different entertainment I think the ship has a lot less overall to offer.

Thoughts ?

We did the Allure twice last year and did the Oasis this past March all Eastern cruise. All were great!! There are still things that I wanted to do on the ship and venues that I wanted to try that I did not get to even on the third time on an Oasis class ship! So go Eastern on the Allure!!

I did a review of our eastern on Oasis. You can see it by clicking on the link below.

We did Allure two years in a row. The first sailing we tried to get it all in, but did not quite make it. The second time we redid the things we enjoyed, did the things we missed the first time and actually had time to relax and enjoy. Of course we did different itineraries and had one newbue with us the second time to change it up but were not bored at all. Enjoyed both cruises very much.

You should do the Princess or NCL

We like it just as much as RC.

We did 3 RC in a row and they were all the same.

It is good to give other cruise lines a try.

We like all of them.

I just look at the best deals the weeks we are able to go..

We were on the Allure July 2012 and we are going back on June 29, 2014. We usually travel in July as well because it works best with the school calendar. There was so much to do we possibly couldn't do it all. Knowing that we seen Chicago, Ocean Aria and some of the Blue Planet we can skip them this time.We will go to the comedy show again and maybe see the headliner if it's not a magician or solo artist. More time to do other things like go to different lounges, eat in specialty restaurants again and not feel like on a schedule. I'm afraid that other ships will not compare to the Allure, but two times may be enough. Eastern...check. Western...to be sailed. I would like to go back on HAL or try Celebrity. Or wait until the new Oasis class ships.
