What would be your "one last straw"?

What do you mean by "it has been determined?" How do you know that? If that's true, when do the contracts expire?

Over the next 6-8 months. It was commented about at the Dallas Celebrity function a few months ago.

I've had the pleasure of taking 39 cruises on 30 different ships, and naturally some have been better experiences than others. Obviously I love cruising, but what attracts me to a particular ship is when it offers something unique that I couldn't get anywhere else. For me, that is the hot glass show on Solstice, Equinox and Eclipse. The show is entirely different every time it's offered--but always entertaining, educational, and exciting.

Sure, some ships have carousels, rock-climbing walls, ziplines, and surfriders...but so does my hometown and I can visit them whenever I want (which is seldom!). But sipping a glass of champagne, watching an accomplished artist create a glass masterpiece, overlooking the majestic ocean...for me, that's truly special. I would be very sad to see that, after building such unique attractions on 3 of its ships, Celebrity chooses to use that space for yet more specialty revenue-producing restaurants.

Poor food would do it for us. Personally, I think the food is better now than it was 3 years ago.

For shipshape sam:

The Lobster on formal night is back at least it was 8 days ago on Solstice. We thought it was very good.

For me it would definitely be if the smoking areas expanded again. The change to the smoking policy on X is the thing that got me to try cruising again. On our first X cruise we could not use our balcony because I found the smoke from other balconies so unpleasant.

There are a lot of other reasons why I like X, but whenever we talk about booking another line the first thing that comes up is the smoking policy. Princess is getting a serious look for next year because with Century leaving the fleet the west coast doesn't seem to be getting any love from X. I'm still on the fence because I am not happy about Princess allowing smoking in the casino.

The uber loud music runs a close second.

For me it's the cutback of the aqua spa cafe. It was my favorate place for breakfast and lunch. Now it's worse than a bad joke.

When did you eat there last? I have never gone for breakfast but I went several times for lunch on Solstice 2 weeks ago. I found they alternated their hot entrees a bit too often but they were good. They had 2 each day and seemed to repeat them every 3 days. I thought the Arctic Char and the Miso Salmon were wonderful (you had to order these). I do agree the cold entrees laid out were often the same and a bit boring.

After reading countless posts complaining about cutbacks on nearly every cruise line, I'm convinced that a passenger rarely boycotts a line just because one small thing was missing from their last experience. It's just that a lot of little molehills eventually add up to one big mountain.

What would be the "last straw" that would absolutely make you stop sailing Celebrity? For me, I couldn't care less if Micheal's or Cellarmasters closed tomorrow. No gym...no problem. No escargot...no big deal. However, the one thing Celebrity could do that would drive me straight into the arms of another cruise line would be to eliminate the hot glass show! That's right, I'm a card-carrying glass groupie. What would it take for you to finally draw the line?

I have been reading about the doggie doo incidents and if I was on a ship with this behaviour that would be it for me . Better not be any of this nonsense on board when I sail or the whole ship will hear about it .

Will for sure quit sailing when there is a charge for sunshine/fresh air/view of the water(besides the added cost to view water from your balcony)/view of the wake/being able to donate large sums of money at the casino/ability to watch the same old sing song production shows cruise after cruise as a few more lines in the sand for me at least. :)

When we've spent all of our money and are living on Social Security alone and can't figure out how to take another cruise on Celebrity. For now, we feel blessed to be able to cruise and can't imagine "one last straw".

If it got to feeling more like an all-inclusive resort: subpar meals, hot all the time (underpowered or no AC), lots of bugs... yeah, hot and buggy ships, that would be our deal-breaker.

Agree! Add 2 more things; filthy and rat infested and we'd be the first to jump ship lines:eek:
