Juneau: Harv and Marv or Allen Marine??

Absolutely obsessed with whale watching! Going May 17,2014 and would like to know your experiences with these companies and which one you think I should choose...thanks so much!

Also interested in this. We're booked with Harv and Marv on June 26th. Picked them based on all the great reviews and the amount of passengers (6) onboard.

 

May 17th? Cutting the decision a little close...

I only go whalewatching on small boats, so Allen Marine is never a consideration. I always go with Orca, but Harv & Marv certainly gets great reviews and I wouldn't hesitate to book with them.

another vote. We've used them and will do so again in the future. Have made referrals and all had positive experiences. Based on these boards, you probably won't go wrong with either H&M or Orca. Enjoy:):)

another vote for Harv + Marv, we just went on this tour last week. There were only 6 of us on board plus two naturalists and the captain.

We loved Harv and Marv's.

 

Five of us had the boat and Captain to ourselves. The Captain made it a great trip. She guided us to the best spots and was a lot of fun. Saw a lot of whales and Eagles.

 

The stop at Mendenhall afterwards was nice too.

 

I don't like the bigger boats. We did the Orca Whale watching in Victoria and had to fight with a lot of people for a view. Many of our photos are of the back of somebody else's head, camera, etc.

I also love Harv and Marv. Have also gone with Orca Enterprises (Captain Larry) and they are really great. Allen Marine is just too big for me, I like to be up close and personal with the whales and both the above companies do that! :)
