Shopping advice pre cruise

Ok...June 28 cruise out of fort lauderdale....arriving late on Friday from Canada with only carryon baggage. Would like to pick up a few toiletries, snacks and visit total wine (princess allows one bottle each). Staying at Sheraton Airport. Should we take a cab early Sat morning to Harbor shops, go back and checkout and then report to terminal using hotel shuttle. Is it easy to get cabs at Harbor Shops?

Any suggestions about best way to do this without having to bring luggage with us to shops?

We get the wine on the way to the cruise and have the taxi driver wait. You can order your wine on the Total Wine website and it will be ready for you when you walk in.

If you would rather not have the taxi wait, then you can call for another when you are done shopping.

I think you missed the OP's main question:

Best I can suggest is to drop your luggage at the port early (around 10 AM) and have that same taxi take you to Harbor Shops. You will still have the one carryon with your that you would be putting your toiletries, snacks and wine into but just a very short cab ride back to the port (for which you would likely have to proffer a tip in advance to find a cabbie willing to take such a small fare).

Thanks fishywood....you understand our problem exactly!

We have decided to rent a car for one day....drop it at the hertz crown plaza location when we are ready to board and take their shuttle over.

With parking at hotel this will cost us less than $40. It will allow is to go out for a nice meal (sheraton not great) Friday night and run all of our errands Saturday morning without having to carry luggage or go back to the sheraton....and will be less than cost of cabs and the sheraton shuttle to the port....thus avoiding the "small fare" cab situation as well.

Thanks to Clarea as well for your reply....we just need to run a few more errands than total wine or your plan would work.
