Drinks Packages

OK apologies for another drinks package thread, but I have searched and couldn't find the answers to these questions.

We've just booked Celebrity for the first time and are a little puzzled about the drinks

- does everyone in your stateroom have to have the same drinks package?

- is Beck's Beer or any other European lager included in the Classic package?

- would cocktails including those at the Martini Bar included in the Classic Package?

- could I purchase a package after a few days on board, or does it have to be on the first day?

Many thanks for indulging a newbie! :)

To answer a few of your questions:

No, everyone in your stateroom does not have to have the same type of package.

Cocktails at the Martini Bar are not included in the classic package. All the Martinis were $11 on our last sailing in Feb. (not sure if that has changed again). There were reports at one time you could get a limited number of smaller martinis that were included in the classic package, however I don't know if this is true anymore.

Yes, you can purchase the package after a few days on board. You usually just have to purchase it before the last two days.

Greetings

Your cabin mate can have a different package.

There is a recent list of items (beers and sprits brands) included in the Classic Package published by Celebrity. A quick search should find it.

Standard cocktails are included, the regular martinis at the Martini Bar are not included. Reports are they will make you smaller martinis which are included if not busy (but they are usually very busy).

You can purchase up to the final couple of days of the cruise. Your purchase will be for the cruises duration, you can't just purchase for the middle days.

Good Sailing

Tom

Last month on silhouette we enjoyed martini's at the martini bar and they were covered by the classic package. They may have been smaller but they kept pouring them for us.

So encouraging, have heard that before, just get the smaller martinis with the classic. Think we will try that! Thanks

You cannot get the martinis on the menu in a smaller glass with the classic. You can get a vodka or gin martini, a Cosmo and Appletini with non premium brands in a smaller glass at the Martini bar.

That is how it was on the Eclipse in Mar. But many things have changed with the drink packages and according to what has been written no one really knows for sure what is and what isn't included in any package. Some have written that the contents of the packages have changed mid cruise. One day they were allowed something and the next day were told that it was no longer part of the package.

There have been many threads lately on this and toning has been written in stone and it seems as if Celebrity doesn't even know. If they do they aren't telling.

Are those the premium martinis you listed? I can't get a large dirty grey goose with the premium package?

You are quoting what is available for the classic at the martini bar. If you have the Premium pack you will get Grey Goose if you request it or if that is how it is discriibed on the menu.

If you go to any other bar you will have to request how you want it. If order a dirty martini they will give you a house brand in a small glass. All martinis at other bars are in a small glass.

We saw the same thing at the Martini Bar on the Silhouette in April...the bartenders told people they were only allowed an original martini or a cosmo with the classic package. Many people were upset because they said on previous cruises they were allowed to order any martini but it was served in the smaller glasses. This was not allowed on this cruise. Fortunately for us we had the premium package, so no worries for us.
