Hal questions from a Princess cruiser.

i sailed the Westerdam and Crown Princess within three weeks of one another last month. The two ships and cruise experiences were worlds apart. The Crown was crowded, and really nothing special (I still have nightmares from that Horizon Court). The Westerdam felt like a more upscale ship, nicer decor (subjective - but really, who decorates Princess ships? wicker and pastels and badly painted murals), more friendly crew, much less crowded, nicer cabins and better suite amenities with the Neptune Lounge. Overall the Holland America ship felt a step above Princess. Also, HAL had a broader selection of liquors and wines, really limited on Princess

One thing I am still left wondering, do Hal have a good enrichment program with lectures etc?

To a great extent that depends on the length of the cruise, and the itinerary.

On my recent 28-day cruise from Sydney to Seattle, with many sea days, we had several lecturers, who gave several lectures each, on a variety of topics. I thought them excellent.

On a shorter cruise, especially one with few sea days, there may not be any lecturers.
