Temperatures and weather in the Baltic

Not long now until our Baltic cruise on Azura at the end of this month.

One thing we're wondering about however: what sort of temperatures and weather can we expect, particularly at the eastern end of the Baltic? On the one hand these places are quite a long way north; on the other hand, we've heard stories that they can in fact be quite warm, warmer perhaps than places in the UK at the same latitude.

We'll be in Stockholm, St Petersburg and Helsinki almost on succeeding days - four days out of five - in early July. What weather can we reasonably expect?

Was on the Adonia last July on the Baltic cruise and it was very very hot. Don't recall the temperatures but Stockholm was baking hot and we enjoyed being on the hop on hop off boats to catch a breeze

St Petersburg also very hot. Couple of overcast days elsewhere in Germany and Sweden but on the whole lovely weather

We have just got back from the Arcadia cruise to the Baltic, the last two weeks in May. As others have said, we went prepared for everything, but in the event,

we had wall to wall sunshine for 12 of the 14 days.

The temperatures were in the low 80s in St Petersburg with the sun rising at about 5am setting at 11pm. It'll be rising earlier and setting later in early July.

We've just returned from a Baltic cruise on Adonia.

In Tallinn on 27th May it was 10°C with drizzle. Two days before it had been 29°C.

In St. Petersburg on 28th May it was 11°C and raining. The day before had been 7°C but a couple of days before that it had been 28°C. For our second day on 29th May it was 13°C with showers. A week after we left it was 31°C.
