Carnival Liberty

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Going on the Liberty May 8, 2015. Can anyone tell me about the ship? What did you like or not like please? Thanks ahead of time. :)

There have been a number of recent reviews on here and that is where I would start my research.

Just returned from "Liberty" last weekend, and had a FANTASTIC cruise. IMO, "Liberty" has all the good parts of 2.0, ie: the food upgrades including Guys, and the American Table, but still retains the EXCELLENT entertainment, which includes BIG shows with eight female dancers, three male dancers, two very good production singers, and a ten piece band. I think you made an outstanding choice when you booked "Liberty". Say HELLO to Cory the cruise director when you get aboard!

We were on Liberty in April when she was still sailing out of Miami. Liberty is our third Carnival Conquest class ship and wins my vote for best décor. As mentioned, Liberty has the 2.0 upgrades and we loved Guy's Burgers. They also have the new American Menu at dinner. We're not fans of the new American Menus but we always found something that we liked. Some of the items we had under the new "Ports of Call" section were very good (we were on a Western Caribbean sailing) and also some great ones on the "Rare Finds" section. There is always something going on for entertainment, whether you like trivia contests (a lot of those), shows, and movies under the stars at the Seaside theater on the Lido Deck at night. They seemed to be showing some newer, popular movies. I know one of the Hunger Games movies was shown on our cruise. We happened to go during the NCAA semi finals and finals were on, so those games were on at the Seaside theater on those nights. We loved the Punchliner Comedy club, they seem to be getting better comedians than we had a few years ago when it first started. Hope this helps.

Love Liberty, our favorite Carnival ship. Just on 3 weeks ago.

They're continuing to tweak the American Table new menus etc. so you should be fine when you go. There were a few things I did not care for but nothing that ruined the trip.

I love the aft main dining room. We also love aft cabins and the stairs and elevated right there.

The Blue Iguana Cantina has great breakfast burritos you pick ingredients. My favorite though is the hueveros rancheros and arepas. I got them most mornings for breakfast. I also really loved the lunch burritos.

Guys burgers is good. Fish n chips good. Wok ok but honestly did not think it as good as cantina or guys.

The Punchliner comedy club is great, but get there early. There are long lines. The alchemy bar was my favorite. Did the martini tasting and the martini class. Loads of fun.

Live entertainment around the ship is really good.

You didn't mention which itinerary. If you tender and don't have FTTF, just line up about 45 min early. They normally start giving tender tickets out early but entire party has to be there to get them.

The Liberty is my favorite of Carnival's fleet. Got back this past Saturday and even though we had rain a couple of days and, missed a port because of wind, we still enjoyed it. Click on the photo below to open up my album and you can see pictures of the ship.

You'll love it.

We also were on her last week. Great ship, not too big or too small. The steakhouse is a must-try. We wanted to try the Alchemy bar, but just never got around to it. We are considering cruising her again next year. The shows were very good as well. Our room steward and wait staff were excellent.

Will be on the Liberty for the 3rd time in September. (Was on her Last October also.)

She is beautiful ship. There are so many things for you to do.

One thing that has not been mentioned is the Seaside Movies. We spent 2 nights under the stars watching movies. We also came back from port early in San Juan to watch War Horse. Nothing like lying in the pool watching a movie.

Have fun and leave her in good condition for us please.

We were on the Liberty last week and loved it! The crew works hard and every meal was great. I loved the shaded area with chairs on the Serenity deck. You could also go up to a counter nearby for food. My only complaint was the cigarette smoke in the casino/promenade area. We loved the band that played in that area but hated the nearby smoke (I'm super sensitive to it). You are going to have a wonderful time!
