Question about "Berlin on Your Own"

Perhaps Bonnie or someone else can help me figure out timing.

 

We've booked the "Berlin on Your Own" excursion from Warnemunde. Does anyone know roughly what hours we will be in Berlin?

 

I'm specifically interested in what time we'll need to meet back at the bus to return to the port. There's a museum we want to see that requires reserved tickets and we want to know how much time we'll have toward the end of the day but not so we'll miss the bus back!

 

The excursion is called for 7:30 AM and is listed as 12 1/2 hours, so I assume it gets back at 8 PM. But when we're supposed to meet for the return trip is a mystery but an important one for us to know ahead of time. Thanks anyone!

not sure of the time but it is a least a 2 hour ride back. i am guessing meeting around 430 pm.

 

I had been to berlin twice so i did a great day trip from the port fro the day. everything is open from like 10 to 5.

When we stopped in Wannermude the trip was a minimum 3 hours there and 3 hours back.

Is that with the ship tours? My friends looked at that but ended up going with a fully escorted tour with SPB tours for $105. Much better value.

SPB tours is awesome...and agree that there is minimal 6 hour round trip travel time; warnemunde/berlin

I understood your post, I was just agreeing about SPB and we used them privately...not part of any group, and we were very pleased especially in St. Petersburg.

It is comments like this that make people wonder why they bother wasting their time trying to help people.

 

Luckily everyone isn't so ungratefull for the time others devote to supporting fellow travellers.

 

For you information- A lot of people do the "on your own" option because they can't afford the full tour. I thought that might be the case with you so thought I'd help you to get a good tour at a great price. Sorry I bothered.

I apologize for giving offense--I assure you it was not intended, I was trying to turn the conversations back to my very specific question about timing for the ships transportation option, and away from other tour recommendations which wasn't what I needed, but my tone may have come across as harsh I writing which it wouldn't have in person. Again, I apologize. I generally find cc so helpful and polite. I would hate to be thought of in the category of those few who are not.

I haven't heard back about your particular tour times. But I do know you will need to be back at the ship one hour prior to departure, which will be 11pm on 7/25.

As for when to be back at the bus, since you say its listed as a 12.5 hour tour, sounds to me also like they'll want you at the rendezvous point around 5pm for the drive back...assuming what others are saying that its a 3 hour drive and the tour is over at 8pm.

Thanks Bonnie. I was thinking the same thing but hoping it wouldn't be 4:30 as a meeting time to leave at 5:00. If I've got til 5:00 (or even later would be better!), I can squeeze in one more thing which requires an advance ticket. So i'm trying to fine-tune it.
