Considering an Alaskan cruise in June, 2015 on the Coral. DH and I were on the Coral for an Alaskan cruise in June of 2007, one of our favorite ships in the Princess fleet! Wondering what upgrades were done in Feb.2013?

Appreciate any info!! Lavendar Lace

Two of the things I can remember were a greatly improved buffet area & adding a small International Café on deck 6 adjacent to the casino. This was where the casino bar was previously located and it has a good size seating area but a more limited food selection than at other ICs.

The only problem with the new layout in the Horizon is that you have to walk all the way to the front of the ship (dogging people all the way) for ice tea or coffee. Sometimes they have ice tea & luke warm coffee outside during dining hours. Other than that is is an improvement with more room to move around plus additional seating.

Not to knock the IC (it's nice & a lot of room to sit) but the location isn't the greatest. It's fine in the morning when there's no one in the casino but when the casino is open the smoke drifts towards the IC seating & makes it unpleasant. We always got what we wanted at that time & went elsewhere to eat. I do realize that there wasn't a better place to locate it but they should have at least put up a wall between the areas. :(

We went there at various times during the day & fortunately never experienced the problems with smoke that you did. :( Another disappointment was the one evening we went there at 11 PM & they only had cheese and fruit plates available.
