Future itineraries may include Antarctica

Here's some interesting news. Viking is now a member of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators.

 

They haven't announced any plans for Antarctica cruises, but this could be an indicator that they plan to cruise there.

Ships are too large to sail right down to the continent. Any ships using heavy fuel can only do drive by.

 

They would also have to have a ship with 500 or less in order to land any passengers.

 

Would either need to be a new build, purchased vessel, or a chartered ship.
