moai Posted August 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2005 Can we use US dollars in Bermuda or we need to exchange to their currency?
CruisFran Posted August 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2005 US currency is readily accepted in Bermuda. You will receive US as change, other than perhaps a few Bermuda coins. Be aware, if you use an ATM in Bermuda, you will receive Bermudian dollars. The exchange rate is equal. Be sure to use all Bermuda dollars before you leave the island...the ship won't exchange them for US.
Swizzle v2.0 Posted August 5, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2005 US currency, including coins, can be used anywhere in Bermuda. The $US is par with the Bermuda dollar so you can even pay for items in mixtures of the currencies. When you purchase something ask the cashier if they could possibly give you your change in $US as most will try if asked. If you have a lot of Bermuda money left over (bills, not coins) you can exchange it at any bank in Bermuda for $US, the exchange fee is 25 cents for every $100 but I don't know if there is a service charge on that. It is a far better rate then you will get trying to exchange it in the US, if you can even find a place that'll exchange it.
